Archie Harrison Christening Details: Everything We Know!
Archie Harrison is extremely cute and very loved.
This much we know.
But we now know something else about the first and, thus far only, child of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: His Christening date!
According to multiple sources, this major religious event will take place on Saturday, July 6.
Per People Magazine sources, the very young man – who turns two months old on this same date – will celebrate his milestone in Queen Elizabeth’s private chapel at Windsor Castle.
The location was chosen by the Duchess and Duke of Sussex because they “wanted an intimate, peaceful setting in a place with such a special connection to Her Majesty,” People writes.
It probably also helped that Meghan and Harry now reside at Frogmore Cottage… which is also on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
So there won’t be any need to stuff Archie into a car seat.
What else do we know about the pending Royal Christening?
Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, will be by her daughter’s side for the occasion, although Queen Elizabeth actually will NOT be due to a prior commitment.
Before you take this as a sign that the Queen clearly hates Markle, please consider/remember: both the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, were absent for Prince Louis’ Christening last year.
We can also confirm, via what we read on the Internet, that the gathering will be attended by approximately 25 family members and friends — and that photos to be released the next day.
Both of these tidbits are typical of a Royal Christening.
The timing of the baptism also makes sense, considering Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three kids – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – were all Christened within about three months of their birth.
Moreover, Charlotte and Louis were both christened in the month of July, just like Archie will be.
Or maybe just a coincidence.
“This is a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share it as a family first and then with the world,” an insider tells People Magazine.
Markle and Harry, meanwhile, have also announced that they’ll be taking a tour of Africa in the near future … with Archie in tow! It will mark the first time the baby leaves his native country.
During the Diana Award National Youth Mentoring Summit (an event honoring his late mother, Princess Diana), Harry delivered a speech this week in which he opened up about caring for his son.
“I’m struck by a few things today, most of which is the power of the invisible role model. The person who may be sitting here today that doesn’t realize that someone looks up to them, that — for that person — you inspire them to be kinder, better, greater, more successful, more impactful,” said Harry, adding:
“Perhaps it’s the newfound clarity I have as a father knowing that my son will always be watching what I do, mimicking my behavior, one day maybe even following in my footsteps.”
Added the handsome Royal:
“But it’s not just my role as a father that shows me that; it’s in the people I see every day that don’t realize how inspirational they are to those watching.
“From small acts of kindness to large measures of character — each move that we make matters, especially when we don’t think anyone is watching. That is when our true character comes to light.”
