Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker has been rushed to hospital just hours before tomorrow's launch night.

The BBC Breakfast host has just shared a snap of himself sitting in a chair whilst hooked up to various medical devices.

Posting on both Twitter and Instagram at 8pm, Dan revealed that he had hit his head in training and received a CT scan, which thankfully came back all clear.

Dan wrote: "Bit of head-based drama today!

"After whacking my noggin on the big glass window yesterday, I got sent to A & E today because I was feeling a bit wobbly."

Although the blonde presenter, 44, now seems to be in good spirits, he has clearly a scary few hours after it was feared he might have a bleed on the brain.

"A lovely nurse at Barnet Hospital called Karina checked my vitals and 6ft 9 Consultant Erik Witt gave me a CT scan to check for a bleed on the brain," he added.

Sadly for the star, who has been training hard for tomorrow's Strictly launch all summer long, he has had to drop out of the live show.

However, he hasn't permanently lost his place on the BBC show, as he hopes to be back next week.

He said: "Thankfully… all ok. I’ve got to rest for a couple of days – so I’ll be a bit behind – but ready to dig in again next week."

Dan ended his post by thanking his dance partner, who was by his side the whole time: "A timely reminder of how amazing the NHS is and, even though I’m not allowed to tell you who my Strictly pro is… I can tell you that she waited for hours in the car park to make sure I was ok.

"Whatever happens on the telly… she has a friend for life."
