Don McLean Honored With Las Vegas Walk of Stars
McLean is immortalized with a plaque on the sidewalk outside the Paris Hotel and Casino in the Sin City Boulevard, joining past honorees like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
AceShowbiz -Veteran pop star Don McLean has been immortalised with a plaque on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.
The “American Pie” singer unveiled the sidewalk accolade outside the Paris Hotel and Casino on Thursday, November 14, when he was celebrated alongside the likes of Wayne Newton, Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Elvis Presley.
Prior to the ceremony, Las Vegas Walk of Stars president Bob Alexander said, “We are extremely excited and privileged to honour Don McLean into the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.”
“Don’s contributions to the entertainment business as a singer and songwriter have been written about in history books, therefore, it is also only fitting for Don to have his name enshrined within a star on Las Vegas Boulevard.”
Commenting on the recognition, McLean gushed, “I have performed in Las Vegas so many times over the past 45 years.
“I have seen Vegas change so much over the years, but the people who live here and visit are always ready for a good time. I hope that I can continue to bring my music to the venues all around Vegas so I can stop and visit my new star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. To receive such an honour that will live on forever is so great.”
