EXCLUSIVE: Love Island’s Greg O’Shea still ‘head over heels’ for ex after break up
Greg O'Shea has opened up on his recent break up with his girlfriend of two years, explaining they were simply "not on the same page".
The 26 year old, who found fame on the hit ITV dating show Love Island after winning with Amber Gill, spoke out about the heartbreaking split during an exclusive interview with OK! Online about his new fitness app Bettr with Greg.
TV personality Greg explained that 2021 was both the best and worst year of his life as he achieved his goal of going to the Olympics and travelling around the world when Covid-19 permitted, but also went through a break up.
"I went through a big break up, which was really emotional. My relationship was always behind the scenes, so that was really tough," he told OK!
Greg then went back to the start, right after he left Love Island, as he shared how he felt weary around girls as he wasn't sure of their intentions.
"People only knew me because of Love Island, so they only really cared about my love life or seeing me with my top off. I just really questioned girls' intentions and people were coming out of the woodwork that wouldn't have spoken to me before the show and now they want to meet me and I'm like, 'You're full of s**t'. I called people out like that," he explained.
However, the star did date a few people who he had known before going on the show as he felt he "knew their intentions". While they didn't work out, he soon found himself "falling hard" with one girl, who he did not name.
"And then I was dating this one girl, who I fell head over heels in love with, but we just weren't on the same page. We had to call it a day. It was really heartbreaking but you have to call a spade, a spade. It was for the best, you know?"
Greg, who recently shared a shocking clip of himself smashing a glass door by accident, went on: "[The] break up kinda started in November time and it was gradual.
"We just got to the point where we were both like, 'Look, we're not on the same page, so let's just…'"

Rugby star Greg shared that while they may have gone their separate ways, he still has feelings for her. He told OK!: "I still am head over heels about her, but she doesn't want what I want. She wants to focus on what she's doing.
"We were together for two years and I was like, 'Look what are we doing here?' It just didn't work out unfortunately, but we still have such affection for one another. We both want to be together, but we're not on the right page."
Greg then explained that while he's "been better", he's managed to get through break up quite well. He said: "I've processed it really well because I know I'd be miserable in a relationship where we're not on the same page.
"You have to put your own happiness first. You can't fill someone else's glass if your glass is empty."
He added: "Maybe somewhere down the line if we're on the same page and she doesn't just want to focus on work and we both want to live in the same place…"
It comes as Greg is launching his very own fitness app, title Bettr with Gregg, that target everyday people looking to inject some exercise into their lives.
Differentiating itself from other apps out there, Greg vows to offer live classes over pre-recorded ones.
"You could have someone who recorded videos a year ago for the fitness app and is now sitting on their a**e, but I'm going to be there. It's going to be tough on me, but the thing is I'm passionate about it. I'm going to train anyway, so I might as well train with you," he said.
