I’m A Celeb’s Charlene’s unlikely friendship as she brunches with Matt Hancock’s lover Gina

Charlene White has found an unexpected friend in Gina Coldangelo – the partner of Matt Hancock.

The Loose Women panelist and ITV newsreader, who previously spoke on I'm a Celebrity about how her journalist integrity prevented her from sharing an RV with Matt, was pictured with her arm around Gina.

A source told The Sun: “They’ve been laughing lots together and having a blast in Oz along with the others. There’s certainly no bad blood.”

Charlene may have been first to leave the ITV show but she's been able to see the positives that have arisen from her early departure.

Alongside a group photo, which included Gina, she wrote: “One of the best things about coming out first is getting to know everyone’s friends and family, and hanging out with them."

She continued, "Morning rituals Down Under now include a daily breakfast coffee run with this lot. It’s a VIBE. It’s pretty much the same as the morning rituals in camp… only with real coffee, instead of our “pretend” tea of the boiled skins of fruit."

While on the show she explained to fellow campmate Sue Cleaver why she couldn't sleep in the same vehicle as Matt. “I’m an impartial journalist, I can’t be sharing a room with a sitting MP because that just doesn’t sit well with me impartiality wise. And I just think, if he were ever to become minister again how can I sit and question him about anything when I’ve shared a room with him?”

On her exit interview she also gave insight into her choices on the show.

She said: "I didn't want anyone to feel like I was being too sympathetic to Matt because that would jeopardise the job that I love and jeopardise my journalistic integrity.

"In my heart, I felt if I didn't represent those people who are still grieving and still hurting, if I don't think about them and ask the questions that I want to know regarding his reasoning for going in the jungle… then I'm not doing my job."

Gina and Matt broke lockdown rules to pursue a relationship.

Matt has made it to the final of I'm a Celeb.

The announcement left many fans up and down the country shocked, but not many were as furious as Piers Morgan who appeared to led a chorus of angry celebs in protest.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to write: “That Matt Hancock, who should be doing his job as an MP, may win I’m A Celebrity after his appalling handling of the pandemic & shameful sacking for breaking his own lockdown rules, is a damning indictment of the celebrification of politics & the British public’s amnesia.”
