Kevin Clifton: Stacey Dooley’s beau speaks out on ‘difficult’ time on Strictly
Kevin Clifton, 37, lifted the Glitterball trophy with his now girlfriend Stacey Dooley in 2018. But the Strictly Come Dancing professional has made a bizarre admission as he spilled he is unable to choreograph in the daytime.
Speaking on his self-titled podcast, the ballroom professional said he lacked “creativity” when practising in a dance studio.
He explained: “For me personally, and I’m sure not everyone is like this. But for me I find it difficult to choreograph in the daytime.
“First of all I can’t do it in a dance studio. There have been times when I booked out a dance studio and I’ve tried to choreograph in there and suddenly I feel like I have no creativity.”
He added: “Whereas if I just walk around and do it in my front room suddenly things come a lot easier. There’s a science behind it.”

Meanwhile, the Grimsby-born performer stunned viewers on Saturday night as he had a different role during the opening performance of Strictly Come Dancing.
The dancer showed off his vocal skills alongside Anton Du Beke as they sang a track from hit musical Hello, Dolly!.
Kevin and his fellow professional dancer were both centre-stage during the number as they sang and danced during the complex routine.
It’s the first time Kevin has sung on the show while Anton, who released his debut studio album in 2017, had previously performed with the late Sir Bruce Forsyth during the sixth series.
Stacey commented on her boyfriend’s performance on Twitter where she gushed over his appearance on the BBC One competition.
She wrote on Twitter: “Look at my Kev tonight,” alongside loving emojis.
Kevin and Stacey confirmed their romance after the pair met on the BBC show in 2018.
The couple got together earlier this year after Stacey split from her boyfriend Sam Tucknott.
She has previously said she doesn’t understand the hype around her relationship status and who she’s with.
Kevin said he understands his partner’s point of view, as he explained how he feels about Stacey saying she’s “baffled” by the interest.
He told OK! Magazine: “What she was saying – and I get it – is she does some really in-depth stuff on serious world issues, but that doesn’t sell the papers, so let’s go with ‘who does she fancy?’ instead.
“It blows her mind a little bit.”

It comes after she spoke candidly about people’s interest in her personal life with Hunger magazine.
She told the publication: “It honestly blows my mind that people give a s**t about who I fancy, or who I’m dating, when professionally I’m conducting interviews with some of the most recognisable terrorists in the world.
“Or covering paedophilic rings. Or discussing youth homelessness. Or conflict in Syria and Iraq. Or mental health units. Femicide rates in Honduras… I could go on and on.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
