Love Island fans left concerned for Gemma and Ekin-Su after spotting worrying skin marks

Love Island fans were left concerned for Gemma Owen and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu during the final episode of the series, after they were seen with “matching skin marks”.

Ekin-Su and Davide Sanclimenti were announced the winners of the ITV2 series on Monday night, with Gemma and Luca Bish coming in as runners-up.

Close friends Gemma, 19, and Ekin-Su, 27, were featured earlier on in the last episode sporting what appeared to be similar patchy marks on their shoulders.

Fans took to Twitter, immediately worried about the marks, as one person wrote: “What are the marks on Ekin Su & Gemma’s shoulders? #Loveisland."

A second said: "Ekin and Gemma both have skin patches that look like burns that look a bit dodgy #loveisland."

Another added: “Why do Gemma and Ekin have burn marks in the same place on their shoulders?! #loveisland."

While the contestants gave no reason for their matching marks, it seems most likely that their skin had peeled off in the hot sun of Mallorca, where they were staying at in the villa.

Every day the Islanders are seen lounging outside in the sun-exposed conditions, which would inevitably cause their patchy appearance as dead skin cells flake off.

It was announced on Monday 1 August that Ekin-Su had and Davide had won and attained the winners’ £50,000 cash prize.

The pair were visibly shocked and delighted at hearing the news, as Davide told host Laura Whitmore at the time: “I'm shocked, I couldn't believe it, I cannot believe it!"

Viewers were ecstatic along with the winning couple, as one person wrote: "I screamed at my TV when Davide and Ekin-Su won… #LoveIsland”, as another said: "Queen Ekin-Su and Prince Davide won and I’m so happy.”

It is now being predicted that Turkish actress Ekin-Su will go on to become even more successful than fellow Love Island winner Molly-Mae Hague, after gaining interest from global brands.

“Over the past seven series [for winners ] it’s the usual fast fashion, drugstore make-up and then, of course, teeth whitening and protein shakes [deals],” a source told The Sun.

"Only Molly-Mae has really and truly broken that mould but even she ended up finding a home at a High Street fashion brand, Pretty Little Thing, albeit on a £250,000 salary.

“Ekin’s appeal to brands appears to have gone way beyond all that. It’s not just clothing brands, but big, global corporate brands that want to work with her. She’s going to be a very, very busy girl.”
