Dr Alex George revealed he is “hanging on by a thread” after he became the target of a cruel troll on social media following family tragedy. The Love Island star spoke out as an online bully told him to “get off social media” just a week proceeding his brother Llyr’s death.
The insensitive message from one of Dr Alex’s 1.4 million followers read: “Your brother is dead get off social media.”
The star re-shared the hurtful comment on his story, writing: “Imagining being this person. I’m holding by a thread and you get people like this.”
The initial remark from the troll, came after Alex enjoyed a day out at the coast.
Justifying his decision to take a small break from home, he said: “I am honest and open with you all.
“The good, the bad and the ugly. “
“There is so much that isn’t shared online of course. So many of you are so kind and message me each day with well wishes.
“I often post to let you know I am still going strong x.”
He had also thanked fans previously for the strong turnout at his younger brother’s funeral.

Yesterday I said goodbye to my little brother Llŷr. It was the hardest day of my life. Except it wasn’t goodbye. Llŷr, your dream was to become a doctor, you will live that dream. Every patient I see, we will do it together, you and I ❤️ Your favorite passion is cars, every time I am out driving, I know you will be there laughing and smiling with me. I love you so much Llŷr, you are always with me, my boy ❤️
