Rita Ora has hit back at trolling comments about her and Davina McCall’s outfits on The Masked Singer.

The Masked Singer detective Rita, 30, said herself and her co-star Davina, 53, dress from themselves and nobody else.

Rita, who recently deleted all her Instagram post after receiving backlash for her lockdown rule breaking, was compared to Tiger King star Joe Exotic and David Bowie in Labyrinth by trolls after debuting a hairstyle on last week’s show.

While others have criticised her outfits throughout the series on Twitter.

One wrote: “Good off Rita Ora to come dressed as Camilla from The Muppets #TheMaskedSinger”.

Another added: “Can someone please explain to me why Rita Ora thought it necessary to come to #TheMaskedSingerUK dressed as Shirley Carter from #eastenders?”

While a third said: “Why is Rita Ora dressed as the mask from Phantom of The Opera?”

Meanwhile Davina has also been cruelly trolled for her outfits on the show as trolls called her an “old” woman “who should cover up”.

Rita has since hit back at the trolls and insisted she and Davina couldn’t care less about the cruel comments.

She told The Sun Online: “I really think style is a totally personal thing — if someone doesn’t like something I wear, they don’t have to, that’s totally fine.

“What’s important is I just need to feel confident about me and how I feel — that’s all that matters to me with my style. I don’t care what anyone else thinks.”

Rita, who has reportedly split from Romain Gavras, and Davina appear alongside Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross on The Masked Singer, which has pulled in more than eight million viewer a week.

The celebrity deceives and viewers are tasked with guessing who is behind then elaborate costumes.

So far the stars who have been unmasked are Mel B, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Lenny Henry, Cold Feet’s John Thomson, A-Ha’s Morten Harket, Glenn Hoddle and former EastEnders star Martine McCutcheon.

Speaking about the show Rita said: “We don’t really critique the singers. This is a guessing show so it’s quite different to your average talent show with judges.

“The characters are already very successful and talented. Some have won multiple awards, so we are not there to judge them, we are there to guess who they are.

“The people on the show already have massive fan bases, but I like that we’re all having fun too. It’s such a fun show, it’s the mystery that makes it, it’s compelling.

“Guessing games have always been the best when we were all growing up and this is like the ultimate guessing game for the nation. The outfits are insane too — I love them so much.”
