Rock Icons Sign Guitar To Raise Money For Jerry Donahue

An electric guitar signed by rock legends such as Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Pete Townshend will be auctioned on December 11 in Wiltshire, U.K., to raise money to help veteran folk-rock guitarist Jerry Donahue, who remains disabled after suffering a stroke in 2016.

One of the worlds most respected guitarists, Donahue suffered a severe stroke on July 29, 2016, tragically resulting in the diagnosis that he may never be able to play the guitar again.

The sale of the guitar is to assist funding for Donahue’s rehabilitation with an aim to bring him as far back to his normal self as possible.

The guitar, housed within a hardcase signed by other artists, colleagues and friends, is being sold at auction house Gardiner Houlgate.

The JHS Vintage Reissued Series V58JD Jerry Donahue signature electric guitar, serial no. M201706254, is estimated to be sold for between about $12,800 and $25,700.
