Rylan Clark, 33, revealed he had a run in with a top actor, after he overheard him reportedly “slagging” him off. The X Factor star claimed it happened backstage when they both appeared on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man back in 2013, but when they bumped into each other a few years later, the meeting couldn’t have been more different.

I either punch him or do the decent thing for the daughters

In a new interview, Rylan explained he harboured his anger about the situation until he confronted the celebrity in question at the National Television Awards in 2016.

He said: “Shortly after The X Factor I went on Chatty Man. There was a guest on the show who is quite a famous actor in this country.

“I could hear him slagging me off, going: ‘Why is that idiot on the show? He is an absolute this and that.’

“I let it go, but I always banked it.”

But when Rylan ran into the same actor, who remains unnamed, at the awards ceremony, he treated him a lot differently after his fame had sky-rocketed.

“In 2016 and 2017, I was up for the NTA and they asked me to present an award,” he continued.

“I go backstage and see this guy walking towards me.

“He puts his hand out and says, ‘Rylan, it is so nice to meet you. I am such a big fan.

“‘My daughters absolutely love you and they will kill me if I don’t get a photo with you. Please can we have a photo together?’”

Rylan took a deep breath as he added: “I had a little reality check and thought, ‘I either punch him or do the decent thing for the daughters’.

“So, I said, ‘Yes, absolutely.'”

Rylan recalled: “As I walked away, I turned around and said, ‘Mate, we have met before… on Chatty Man, in 2013. Do you remember slagging me off?'”

Elsewhere, the TV star made headlines after announcing he was undergoing a major transformation by having his famous veneers removed.

The stunning pearly whites cost him a whopping £25,000 and Rylan recently joked that he’s planning on getting them framed.

The It Takes Two star decided to go back to a more natural style this time around as he waved farewell to his iconic bright smile.

Of his old teeth, he told MailOnline: “I’ve still got them, they’re in a bag somewhere, I’m going to get them framed.

“The new ones are a hell of a lot smaller, I couldn’t fit the last ones on a plane to the Pacific so I thought I’d make them a lot more natural.

“If I didn’t have the veneers, I would look like a gummy t**t so they’re staying!”
