Sue Cleaver couldn’t look happier to leave I’m A Celeb jungle as she’s greeted by pals
Despite her elimination on Monday night, Sue Cleaver seemed in high spirits as she saw friends and family for the first time since entering the I'm A Celeb jungle.
Arriving in her campsite attire, the Coronation Street actress didn’t seem upset as she entered the Marriot Gold Coast Resort.
This is despite the fact that she received the fewest public votes, during Monday’s night episode and became the third star to leave the show.
In fact, the 59-year-old grinned from ear to ear as she was greeted by loved-ones who had flown to Australia earlier this month.
A fan favourite, Sue’s elimination came as a shock to viewers at home. Fans of the series had warmed to the actress following her touching admission about her adoption and finding her birth mother by chance, whilst still in drama school.
Before Sue, Charlene White and Scarlette Douglas were voted off the ITV show, with Lioness Jill Scott currently the last woman left in the camp.
Sue beamed as she emerged from a chauffeur-driven car to a rapturous round of applause.
The actress, who has played Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street since 2000, was also photographed hugging other celebrities' loved ones as she entered the luxury resort.
Ardent followers of the series will undoubtedly notice the change in venue, as evicted stars usually stay in the Palazzo Versace resort. The resort has become associated with I’m A Celeb, as it often appeared in the Coming Out show.
However, even I’m A Celeb is scaling back this year and producers have chosen to boycott the opulent Palazzo Versace, which is said to cost a staggering £1000 per night.
Instead, producers have opted for the Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa where rooms are more affordable – starting at £256 per night.
Soap star Sue welcomed another grandchild just before entering the jungle, so she will undoubtedly be keen to spend time with the newborn.
Family is incredibly important to the actress, as she revealed during the heartfelt discussion of her adoption with her fellow campmates.
During her first interview on Good Morning Britain, Sue was praised by host Richard Madeley for opening up about the sensitive subject and about her half-siblings.
She told viewers: “I have been quite private.”
“I have never spoken about that out of respect for everyone but I felt so comfortable in there with those people and (sisters) Emma and Kate, my brother and my mum said say whatever you feel, what you're happy to feel, so I did.”
“I think the one thing the world will realise about me is I don't have a filter. You completely forget that the cameras are there.'”
