Watching Beyoncé's Daughter Blue Ivy Dance Is a Mood
When you have parents like Beyoncé and Jay-Z, talent is running through your bloodstream. Since she was born in Jan. 2011, fans of the entertainers have gushed over their eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who has showcased her sunny personality and sharp wit.
Now, in a new video shared on social media, Blue Ivy is giving us a glimpse of her dance moves, and it looks like she’s ready to choreograph her mother’s next tour whenever the Dangerously In Love icon is allowed to perform in public again.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z shield their children from the spotlight
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are some of the most recognizable people on the planet. The singer and the rapper are worth over $1 billion together, and they’ve both been in the spotlight for over 20 years. However, despite their mega-fame and success, the duo has worked diligently to keep their children, 9-year-old Blue Ivy and 3-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, out of the spotlight.
Though we’re seen more of Blue Ivy over the years, Beyoncé has only shown us slivers of Rumi and Sir in her documentaries, Homecoming and Black Is King, and on her social media pages.
Since neither The Lion King: The Gift singer nor The Blueprint icon do much press these days, fans only know details about their intimate family life became of their revealing album’s 2016’s Lemonade and 2017’s 4:44. On those respective albums, the power couple got candid about infidelity in their marriage, fertility struggles, their children, therapy, and healing.
We’ve seen glimpses of Blue Ivy’s personality
While Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been cautious about keeping Rumi and Sir out of the spotlight, we’ve seen glimpses of Blue Ivy’s personality. She’s attended various award shows with her parents. She’s been nominated for a Grammy for her vocals on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl,” and she’s even recorded the audiobook for Matthew Cherry’s acclaimed children’s book, Hair Love.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, has also given us glimpses of her eldest granddaughter, from Blue’s handwashing tutorial and makeup skills to her disdain for her mother’s corny jokes.
“My Blue is a great makeup artist! She made me into Grandma Skeleton,” Knowles-Lawson captioned her Instagram photo.
For Knowles-Lawson’s Sept. 2020, Where Art Can Occur virtual celebration, Beyoncé told a corny joke and Blue was absolutely horrified. “Why does Snoop Dogg need an umbrella?” Beyoncé quipped in an Instagram video. Blue was immediately embarrassed saying, “No, no, that voice. “No. Mom, the voice, no. NO! NO!” Beyoncé finished her joke by saying, “Fo’ drizzle.”
This video of Blue Ivy dancing to Ciara ‘Gimmie Dat’ is a mood
Now Knowles-Lawson has shared a delightful video of Blue Ivy dancing to Ciara’s 2010 hit single “Gimmie Dat” during a dance class. In the video, Blue can be seen energetically pumping her arms and shaking her head so that her hair beads cling together.
“This is Blue but I swear it looks like Solange dancing at this age,” Knowles-Lawson proudly shared, adding a heart emoji.
We love to see small glimpses of Blue Ivy when we can.
