First listen of Beyonce singing Can You Feel The Love Tonight? in The Lion King

Beyonce and Donald Glover are heard singing their version of Can You Feel The Love Tonight? for the first time in the new Lion King trailer – and naturally fans are absolutely loving it.

A new teaser clip for Disney’s anticipated live action reboot arrived on Thursday afternoon and features Beyonce’s crisp vocals duetting with Donald on their version of Elton John’s iconic ballad that led the soundtrack for the 1994 original animation.

The teaser features narration from Mufasa, who says: ‘Look at the stars, the great kings look down on us from those stars. And so will I.’

Along with Bey and Donald’s vocals, the 30-second trailer is interspersed with scenes already seen in previous trailers, including Mufasa and Simba’s silhouette walking against the backdrop of the moon and a large herd of animals storming across the plains.

Needless to say, fans are thrilled at finally hearing part of the new soundtrack.

‘It’s me. I can feel it,’ a fan quipped in response to the song’s title, while another hailed: ‘Beyoncé?????? WHAT A VOICE, we stand for you queen.’

Fans were anticipating their first listen of the new Can You Feel The Love Tonight? after Billy Eichner, who plays Timon, revealed that Beyonce and Donald’s version will make us ‘cry’.

And, after the little snippet Disney have treated us to, he wasn’t wrong.

Billie said on Crooked Media’s Keep It podcast back in March: ‘She’s definitely in the movie because I’ve seen a rough cut.

‘And I’ve heard her sing Can You Feel the Love Tonight? with Donald Glover and I’m telling you, it’s f*****g good.’

He continued: ‘And that was never my favorite song to be totally honest.

‘I liked it when Elton John sang it. I love Elton John. I don’t want to give too much away about that, they do not want us talking about it. I will just say that honestly, it made me cry and I was not expecting that.’

The Lion King hits UK cinemas on 19 July.
