What did the musical icon behind Last Christmas think of a movie using his music?

This new exclusive clip for Mirror Online has the crew and cast of the film Last Christmas – including Emma Thompson and Emilia Clarke – discuss what Wham! lead singer George Michael thought of the plans for the festive rom-com before he passed away in 2016.

The new film follows Kate (Clarke), an aspiring singer and worker in a Christmas store run by a strict manager ( Michelle Yeoh ).

With her life full of the songs of her hero George Michael and habits of heavy drinking, one-night stands, and avoiding her interfering mother (Emma Thompson), Kate’s view of the world changes forever when she meets the charming and mysterious Tom (Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding).

But is he all he seems to be?

Directed by Bridesmaids helmer Paul Feig , Last Christmas will give some festive cheer to cinemas this year, with a script from British acting icon Emma Thompson and her husband Greg Wise .

Our verdict certainly have it much praise , and suggested it could challenge Love, Actually as a modern yuletide classic.

Last Christmas is released in UK cinemas on November 15, 2019.
