WARNING: This article contains full spoilers for No Time To Die
No Time To Die has finally made its way to cinemas after almost 18 months of delays and reschedules. The story of Daniel Craig’s James Bond has finally been brought to an end after five films and 15 years, but as the post-credits scene trend has taken hold of cinema, did Eon jump on the end-credits stinger bandwagon?
Does No Time To Die have a post-credits scene?
No, No Time To Die does not have a traditional end-credits scene after the action has stopped.
However, there is a final treat for fans if they stick around through the lengthy credit crawl.
After all of the cast, crew, and support staff are given their moment in the credits, the screen goes black for a brief moment.
What follows is a line of text that assures fans: “James Bond will return.”
This information is, of course, referring to the future of the franchise rather than Craig’s version of Bond himself.
Craig’s Bond can no longer be a part of the series as he was killed off during the movie’s last, emotional moments; putting a proverbial nail in his coffin once and for all.
It’s no secret that the James Bond franchise is everlasting, with new actors taking control of the series at every generation.
Craig, of course, took hold of the character after Pierce Brosnan, who starred in four films from 1995’s Goldeneye to 2002’s Die Another Day.
James Bond: Daniel Craig says film is ‘bigger and better’
Now all eyes are on the Eon bosses, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, regarding who will take over from Craig going forward.
Rumours have been aplenty over the past few years, with the likes of Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy supposedly in the running.
The latest odds also suggest that Regé-Jean Page could be the next best star of the 007 franchise after becoming supremely popular in the Netflix show Bridgerton.
Alternatively, Eon could change things up drastically and place a woman in the James Bond role.
During the events of No Time To Die viewers were introduced to Nomi (Lashana Lynch), the world’s first female 007, who took over from Bond after he went AWOL.
With this in mind, Lynch’s chances of claiming the Bond role for the future have also improved.
Last week Broccoli, the mastermind behind the series, did speak out about the next Bond in an interview – but it wasn’t exactly great news.
When asked about the search for the next Bond, Broccoli said: “We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we’ll start thinking about the future.”
Craig, on the other hand, is not as definite in his opinion about the future of Bond.
This week he was asked who he thought should replace him as Bond.
He bluntly responded: “Not my problem.”
