Adele confronted by Peppa Pig voice star on air after snubbing collaboration

Adele was recently asked on an Instagram Live if she would collaborate with Peppa Pig.

“Am I gonna collab with Peppa Pig? No!,” she scoffed.

The animated porcine character was in good company though, as Adele also said: "I’m not making a song with Beyoncé — I don’t know why so many of you are asking that. I love her! Not that I know of, but I’d love to!”

Adele had gone live on her official Instagram page, with more than 100,000 people tuning in to watch her answering fans’ questions.

Children's TV icon Peppa hasn't taken the snub lying down, though.

Speaking to Capital Breakfast radio hosts Roman Kemp, Sian Welby and Sonny Jay, Adele addressed the viral reaction to her rejection of the porcine superstar.

The Grammy winner, 33, admitted she "Felt terrible the second I said it!"

Adele was then surprised when the team played a voice note from Peppa where she plaintively said: "Hello Adele *snort*, that made me really really sad when you said you wouldn’t collaborate with me! Why not! Don’t you like me?"

Taken aback, and asking if was the real Peppa Pig actor, Adele responded: "Firstly of all babes, Peppa that aint’ the one of you I know. That’s not the same voice that I grew up with with my son.

"Oh my gosh, but Peppa I spent three years watching you [laughs]. I deeply regret it, anytime you want to go jumping in muddy puddles and singing in muddy puddles, I’m with you babes. I felt terrible the second I said it!"

Roman asked: "Out of all the things, did I take it too far with Peppa Pig," and Adele replied: "I know, I did, I had no idea what I was doing!"

Meanwhile, Adele's new single Easy On Me, from her forthcoming album 30, has been released. 299,000 people watched its debut live on YouTube.

30, Adele's fourth album, is released on 19 November.
