Coronation Street icon Sally Dynevor has posted a new video of her on Instagram rehearsing with dance partner Matt Evers.

The duo have been putting in the extra graft ahead of Dancing on Ice series launch next month.

The popular actress – best known as Sally Metcalfe in the ITV soap – is seen performing a series of complex turns in the 17-second long video clip as she follows the lead of ice-skating professional Matt.

The reality contest sees 12 celebrities battle it out with professional dancers over several weeks, after gruelling training sessions and, in some cases, nasty injuries.

Sally and Matt had paid a visit to Snowstorm on Ice in Manchester's Trafford Centre, where they get in the extra rehearsal time ahead of next year's skating stint.

The soap star captioned the video: "Had fun this morning, thank you for having us @snowstorm_on_ice @thetraffordcentre. Looking forward to seeing your show."

Committed and determined to the dancing craft, skating newbie Sally's eyes and ears were locked onto looking at professional skating partner Matt in the video.

Matt jokingly commented: "Yes, we do speak to each other!!! concentration is best achieved sometimes without my gob flapping."

Celebrity friends and followers quickly congratulated the soap actress on her skating abilities as the Star preps for the ice competition.

Sally Carmer, who played Abi Franklin in Corrie, commented: "Oh Sal, you're doing brilliantly! xxx" with the TV presenter, Ria Hebden, adding: "Looking fantastic Sally! "

Fans were also quick to chip in and support the soap actress as she prepares.

One of Sally's followers wrote: "Brilliant Sally, you and Matt are going to be amazing, and I can't wait to vote for you both well done."

With another added: "Looks very magical! Would put me in the Christmas mood skating there!!"

Next year's celebrity line-up includes the likes of Love Island star Liberty Poole, bombshell and dancer Kimberley Wyatt, S Club 7's Rachel Stevens, The Vamps band member Connor Ball and Strictly's Brendan Cole.

It has already been confirmed that former judge John Barrowman will not be returning for the series.
