Dawn French takes ‘mini me’ niece out and fans are gobsmacked at the likeness

Dawn French took her niece out to see Adele perform and fans couldn’t believe what a “mini-me” the aspiring theatre manager was.

The comedian and Vicar of Dibley actress took Hannah to ITV’s an Audience With Adele and it was like seeing double.

Even though Dawn, 64, was sporting an edgy quiff hairdo and Hannah wore her hair in a simple ponytail, the likeness was astonishing.

Dawn wrote on Instagram: "Out on the razz w/ @frrenchiee to see @adele last night. Wooooweeee! Girl can SING! And Adele wasn’t bad either…"

One fan gushed: "LOVE your hair, @dawnrfrench. Looks like a fun time with your mini-me."

Another commented: "You look stupendous, Hannah definitely looks like you xxx."

And someone else chimed in with: "Beautiful ladies. You look so alike."

Dawn has previously spoken about his close she is to Hannah and once remarked: "It feels a bit like we are twins born 40 years apart."

In an open letter to Hannah in her 2008 autobiography Dear Fatty, Dawn said: "Right from the moment you were born, on Boxing Day 1993, and when I first looked into your eyes, I knew we were linked in a profound way.

"I am so glad you’re here, that you’re my niece and I cherish our mysterious sameness."

She added: "I can’t apologise enough for the lifetime of comparison to me you have already had to, and will in the future, endure.

“The endless comments about how you and I are so similar must be agonising."

Dawn has also previously spoken about her relationship with her daughter Billie, 30, who she shares with ex-husband Lenny Henry, 63.

The French & Saunders star said they cannot live together because of the “frequent wars” and explained: "I haven't got a kid who wants to read with me and have adventures with me, I've got a different kind of kid who's a different kind of set of challenges and that's been my lesson."

She added: "Our relationship exists in a bizarre kind of process of peacetime, small battles, war. The peacetime is much more than the other two energies, but we have our wars."

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has reportedly hired her for the all-star judging panel of his upcoming show Walk The Line.

Dawn will take a seat next to musical icons such as Gary Barlow, Craig David and others – with Simon taking a step back from the limelight to focus on his family.
