Derek Acorah’s wife hits out at ‘vile’ psychics who trolled medium before death

Celebrity medium Derek Acorah's wife Gwen Acorah Johnson shared the sad news of her husband's death at the age of 69.

The Most Haunted star, real name Derek Johnson, passed away after suffering from sepsis, which was caused by pneumonia, she confirmed.

Derek's other half has now claimed the medium was taunted by trolls, who were jealous of his "status", on his deathbed.

Gwen, who was married to the TV medium for 24 years, spoke about a "vile couple" who "hounded" her husband while he was in hospital in her statement about his death on Facebook.

The grieving wife penned: "To the vile couple who hounded him for responses to their ridiculous campaign while he was in Intensive Care in a coma, I hope you have the decency to hang your heads in shame.

"I have things to deal with now but I won't forget nor will I forgive what you have done!"

Gwen explained the situation further to The Sub and said the messaging from the trolls had been "going on for a while".

She told the publication: "They were just jealous of Derek and wanted his status."

Gwen declined to name the couple and said Derek ignored the messages from them before he died.

She said: "We didn't report them to the police as you would just spend all your time in a police station.

"But I'm upset about it, especially as they were sending messages while he was in intensive care.

"I know they probably didn't know he was so ill but they should be ashamed of themselves."
