EastEnders’ Kara Tointon expecting second child with fiancé in ‘happy surprise’

Former EastEnders star Kara Tointon is pregnant with "happy surprise" baby number two.

The actress and her fiancé Marius Jensen welcomed their first son Frey in November 2018 and wanted a sibling for him.

The Strictly Come Dancing's 2010 winner, 37, also announced that she's going to "be outnumbered" with another boy on the way.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Kara said: "I think this year has brought so many things in different ways. At the beginning of the year I was due to start a play, and now I am at home in a little cocoon and pregnant.

"We really wanted a sibling for Frey. So we said: 'If it happens, it happens; let's go with the flow,' and it happened much quicker than we expected. I did the test in May. We weren't shocked but it was a surprise, and we feel so lucky…"

Kara is thrilled to be having another boy if it means her sons grow up to be as close as she is to her sister Hannah.

She added: "I am thinking how lovely for Frey to have a brother. I'll be outnumbered with Marius and two boys but bring it on."

Before Covid-19 hit Kara and Marius had been planning on tying the knot this year.

Appearing on Lorraine she had revealed they might marry in her partner's home country of Norway.

But at the time the actress said her mum's health was her "priority" and she wanted her well to be able to enjoy her big day.

She told Lorraine in September last year: "We are hoping next year, perhaps in Norway or maybe in London. My mum hasn't been too well over the last year or so and I want her to be able to enjoy it.
