Little Mix fans fear end of band as Jesy Nelson quits ‘like Zayn Malik’
Little Mix fans have been left "in tears" after Jesy Nelson announced on Monday that she's quit the band after nine years.
Fans have flocked to Twitter to compare the 29-year-old's exit to that of Zayn Malik's after he left One Direction.
Rushing to Twitter, many have shared their fears that Jesy's departure could be the end of Little Mix as it is claimed it was for One Direction after Zayn left.
One tweeted: "Same energy – LittleMix OneDirection," followed by side-by-side screen grabs of Jesy and Zayn's statements announcing their departures.
"Zayn: After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Jesy: After an amazing nine years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix," another tweeted, adding "the story repeats itself" in Spanish, followed by the exact same two print screens.
Other heartbroken fans shared how the news made them feel.
One wrote: "Jesy has left Little Mix I am heart broken but her happiness and mental health come first hope she is better soon and wish her luck in whatever she does in the future."
Another tweeted: "My heart is broken and I cannot believe it."
"My heart is broken to hear about Jesy leaving Little Mix I wish you the best in everything you do girlie. Love you. Thank you for everything," said another fan.
On Monday Jesy took to her official Instagram account to share a statement revealing the news to her 7.3million followers.

Jesy wrote: "To all my Mixers,
"The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life.
"We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the O2.
"Making friends and fans al over the world I cant thank you all enough form the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
"You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never every forget it."
She went on to reveal the reason behind the decision to quit the band was due to her mental health.

Jesy added: "The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up t expectations very hard.
"There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin the process.
"I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing thing that make me happy. I'm ready to embark on a new chapter in my life – I'm not sure what it's going to look like right now, but I hope you'll still be there to support me.
"I want to say thank you to everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.
"To every single fan who came to see us in concert, who listened to our songs and sung their hearts out, sent me messages and supported me along the way I want you to know I love you all so much and I could never have done this without you and I appreciate it endlessly.
"Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories I'll never forget. I hope that you'll continue to fulfil all of your dreams and keep making music that people love. Love Jesy."
