Little Mix producer lets slip that trio are all working on solo music
Little Mix's co-writer and producer may well be in the dog house after he accidentally let slip on a podcast that Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall are all working on solo music.
Biff Stannard praised the girls for their talent in a recent interview, but said more than he meant to.
The producer gave away some of their plans, and fans are very excited but also worried about what it means for the future of Little Mix.
Biff was speaking on Steve Anderson's music show Such A Good Feeling.
Steve started off by saying Biff was "blessed with four really, really great vocalists in that band, with incredible strengths."
Biff agreed: "Exactly! They have incredible tones don't they. "
He was raving about Jade's talent in particular, when he seemed to forget what he was saying.
He praised: "I love the fact that their voices have just got better and better. When Jade was here recently she was doing stuff, and she just does a guide and you think 'that's okay', and then she does it properly and you think: 'F***ing hell, god, she can sing!'"
Biff continued: "I'm so excited for all… I think they're all doing a solo record."
He then paused, seemingly realising what he said: "You might have to cut that out… but as far as I know they are."
Steve agreed he "might have to cut it out" as Biff stressed: "Cut!"
Unfortunately for Biff, it didn't get cut from the audio and fans have heard the news.
Rumours have been swirling about split plans for Little Mix, and it's been claimed that the band will be working on solo projects and potentially breaking up after their tour in 2022.
It follows the departure of Jesy Nelson from the band, and she released her debut solo album.
An insider told The Sun: "They’ve been pretty open with each other about it. There are a lot of meetings happening at the moment.
"Some of them have already done management deals. Leigh-Anne has signed up with Dua Lipa’s manager, Jade is cutting her teeth as a songwriter and presenter, while Perrie is working on other things too.
"They still get on great, despite everything that has happened with Jesy. But her departure put the cat among the pigeons.
"They all know there will have to be a career beyond Little Mix, so they’ve put things in place."
They continued: "The plan is to see out commitments, then turn to solo projects almost immediately."
Fans shouldn't panic just yet, as the source says Little Mix intend to put the band on hiatus instead of splitting: "The intention is to keep the band going too — but that’s how One Direction ended and it’s hard to believe they will have time for everything."
