Scarlett Moffatt’s mum ‘stole thousands from her to fund gambling addiction’
Scarlett Moffatt's mum Betty took thousands of pounds from her daughter's accounts and used it to fund her gambling habit, it is claimed.
It is alleged Betty, 50, who stars alongside Scarlett and her husband Mark in Gogglebox took the money from her daughter's bank accounts during the first lockdown.
Betty frittered away thousands of pounds a week of her own money as her habit spiralled out of control – and then took cash from her daughter's accounts, it is claimed.
It is alleged Betty kept the extent of her addiction from Scarlett as she continued taking cash from her.
She hoped that she would be able to pay her daughter back with a big win, it is claimed.

It is alleged Betty came clean to Scarlett and told her she had been taking the money after Scarlett grew concerned about what had happened to her bank balance.
A source close to the family said the confession left Scarlett "betrayed and confused".
An insider told the Sun once Betty broke down and explained what had happened Scarlett couldn't have been more supportive.
It is alleged she arranged for her mum to check into rehab for treatment.
Mark Moffatt rallied to his wife's side to help support her through her post-rehab recovery, it is claimed.
The source explained: "Scarlett has done lots of research into the perils of online gambling and hopes that by this story coming out she and Betty can help others in a similar position.
"She's determined to come out the other side and for some good to emerge from this heartbreaking situation."
Scarlett referred to Betty as her 'mamager' and gave her shares in Scarlett's company, Northern Unicorn Productions which has £211,000 in its accounts
Last year the company paid out £240,000 in dividends to its sole director: Scarlett.
Scarlett helped organise Betty's lavish 50th birthday bash in August.
Her daughter arranged for a pop-up pub to be set up in her garden at the bash attended by 30 of Betty's close friends and family.
A separate source told The Mirror that the family are supporting Betty through her post-rehab treatment.
Scarlett's representatives have been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
