Strictly bosses ‘monitoring’ Maisie Smith and HRVY to prevent them kissing

Flirty Maisie Smith and HRVY are reportedly being "monitored" by Strictly Come Dancing bosses to make sure things don't turn romantic between the two contestants.

The pair have enjoyed some banter leading up to the start of the show and BBC Chiefs are said to be keeping an eye on them to make sure they don't break the show's kissing ban.

Producers will not tolerate anyone breaking the strict Covid measures that are being enforced to keep everyone safe, reports The Sun On Sunday.

A source said: "Maisie and HRVY are being monitored by the producers after it’s become clear their connection could easily lead into a Strictly romance.

"They’re both young, single and hot and the thought is that the two of them could bring the other cast into risk if they break the guidelines and get closer."

Kissing and hugging are banned along with a other social distancing measures which need to be adhered to on set, an insider told Mirror Online.

HRVY, 21, has been more than complimentary of Maisie, he's said: "I love Maisie, she’s a great girl and has got great banter.

"When I saw her in her blue dress last week, she looked incredible. I can’t wait to see her grow and look amazing every week."

But he's revealed that "legally" the pair can't get too close.

He said: "I’ve spoken to Maisie at the studios, but the thing is legally I’m not even allowed to go near her.

"So for now we are great friends, and she’s lovely.

"I am going to focus on the dancing, and all that stuff can come second, but who knows what will happen after the show!"

But at least the pair can flirt on social media.

After comparing him to Justin Bieber in a post online, Maisie, 19, added: "You just reminded me my spaghetti’s almost done!" to which Hrvy replied: "Stop flirting, you love spaghetti".
