Taylor Swift’s Hit Singles Replaced With New Recordings by US Largest Radio Network
iHeartRadio announce that they will only play the new versions of Taylor’s songs after they have replaced her hits with the new recordings from her album reboots.
AceShowbiz -U.S. radio station iHeartRadio will only play re-recorded versions of Taylor Swift songs.
The singer-songwriter has re-released two of her hit albums – “Fearless” and “Red” – after masters of her early records were sold without her permission.
And in a victory for the singer, bosses from America’s largest radio network have announced it will only play the new versions.
In a statement, iHeartMedia’s Chief Programming Officer Tom Poleman said, “Whenever Taylor re-records a new track, we immediately replace the old versions.” He said, “Our stations will always deliver songs that artists are eager to share and fans want to hear.”
“Listeners have made it known that they cannot wait to hear Taylor’s Version of each track. We are thrilled to provide a platform to share those with them, as well as the stories behind the songs from Taylor herself.”
“Red (Taylor’s Version)” was released on Friday (12Nov21) and racked up the biggest number of first day streams by a female artist in history, overtaking her 2020 “Folklore” record.
The “Red” album reboot features Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Ed Sheeran, Phoebe Bridgers, and Chris Stapleton.
“It’s really inspiring for me and a lot of musicians,” Bridgers praised Swift over the re-recording project. “I think a lot of people make a couple of records (and are) like, ‘Oh wow, I hit the top, I’m great now,’ and the fact that she just has always wanted more from the world – like, ‘No, no, no, f**k you, I’m going to make it again, I’m going to make it better, and it’s going to belong to me’ – is the coolest.”
