Vic Mensa Performs Powerful New Cut "NO MORE TEARDROPS"
Vic Mensa debuted a new visual for his Lollapalooza 2020 virtual set, performing a new cut entitled “NO MORE TEARDROPS” and renditions of “16 SHOTS” and “WE COULD BE FREE”.
The 10-minute performance, arranged by Peter Cottontale, begins with “NO MORE TEARDROPS” and is Mensa’s powerful statement against racism and police brutality. Joined by The Rebirth Brass Band, Malik Yusef and Wyatt Waddell, the artist can be seen setting fire to a confederate flag as he stands in solidarity with the Black community. After being chased away by police, they move locations to do “16 SHOTS” before a short clip of JAY-Z introducing Mensa is shown. It then transitions to a stripped-back version of “WE COULD BE FREE,” ending the already influential performance on an emotional note.

Elsewhere in music, JAY-Z’s Roc Nation is establishing a school for music, business and sports.
