Ana Navarro and Meghan McCain's Heated Exchange on 'The View': 'I Said Don't Scream at Me!'

Tensions were high as Navarro returned to the table — before McCain was seen walking off the stage.

The studio audience at "The View" was left in shock after an extremely tense moment between cohost Meghan McCain and guest host Ana Navarro.

With Whoopi Goldberg out, show regular Navarro made a return to the table to fill in the empty space. While Joy Behar was thrilled to have her back, it became clear by the end of the first segment that McCain may not feel the same way.

The show kicked off with talk about a whistleblower’s vague allegations that President Donald Trump had made a "promise" of some kind with a foreign leader. The conversation was sparked by a wild exchange Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, had with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday, where Giuliani admitted to asking the Ukraine to look into Joe Biden.

After Abby Huntsman expressed some doubt over the allegations, saying "this is a blown-up story and we have no facts," McCain chimed in with a somewhat confusing argument she later admitted was "clumsy."

"We had Pamela Anderson on a week ago, two weeks ago and I took her to task about Julian Assange and there’s a lot of liberals who are okay with Julian Assange releasing Hillary’s emails," she said. "He’s a ‘whistle blower,’ I called him a cyber-terrorist. And now, at the same time, those same people are screaming bloody murder right now about the same whistleblower. I think all interference with a foreign country in our country, all of it is bad and should be condemned and you can’t play party politics with this and there’s a lot of people who are doing that with Julian Assange."

When Behar asked McCain, "So who are you mad at here?", Meghan cut her off.

"Excuse me, I’m still speaking," she shot back. "I’m mad there are people on the left that think Julian Assange is okay, like he’s some kind of patriot whistleblower when he did interfere with our election." After Behar responded, "I’m on the left I don’t agree with it at all," McCain narrowed her scope of "liberal" to mean mainly Bernie Sanders supporters.

At one point in the conversation, Navarro made a joke about Stephen Miller "dating a human being and not an inflatable" that fell flat with Meghan, who rolled her eyes at the comment. As the exchange continued, Huntsman said that, yes, what Assange did and what the president is being accused of doing are equally dangerous. As both Navarro and McCain spoke up to add to the conversation, Meghan yelled, "Excuse me!"

"I’m 2 feet away, I don’t need you to scream at me this way," said Navarro. "I don’t know what you just said," responded McCain. "I said, don’t scream at me, I’m two feet away," Navarro shot back.

That was met with a loud, uncomfortable reaction from the studio audience as Joy then tried to throw to a commercial. "You know what, that’s so rude Ana," said McCain as the show began to break, sarcastically adding, "Welcome back."

Meghan was then seen walking off the stage as members of the audience were visibly shocked. When the show returned from commercials, however, McCain was back and they all continued like nothing happened.
