Coronation Street fans spot major blunder as Shona Platt is seen wearing ITV lanyard

CORONATION Street fans couldn't help but laugh when they spotted one of the characters wearing an ITV pass on screen.

Shona Platt was shown stomping the cobbles of Weatherfield wearing a lanyard for the broadcaster that makes the soap.

She was seen bickering with Peter Barlow with a line of colourful ITV logos on a loop visible underneath her coat.

Corrie superfan I_am_KenBarlow tweeted the actress who plays Shona writing: "Hey @juliagoulding, that Shona has nicked your ITV lanyard!"

Another viewer posted: "Oooopsies #Corrie hawkeyes tonight, can you spot it."

The episode, which aired just before Christmas, saw many of the scenes being filmed outside in the chilly weather.

So perhaps it's so surprise that Julia thought the lanyard would be well hidden below her chunky coat.

The passes, used for security or to gain access to the buildings, are routinely worn by the cast and crew of Coronation Street off camera.

The scene saw David Platt's son Max exposed for wrongly accusing Daniel Osbourne of being in a relationship with Summer.

The aftermath saw Peter Barlow call the youngster a "feral little thug" during a family bust-up but David objected: "All right, that's uncalled for."

Shona, wearing her ITV lanyard, chipped in: "Yeah – and for your information he did try and stop it."

Daniel retorted: "Well he didn't do a very good job."
