Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah Platt’s wedding day sabotaged by Adam makes bad choice?

Coronation Street resident Sarah Platt (played by Tina O’Brien) has not had the best of luck when it comes to romance, but after meeting Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) it seems she is going to get her happy-ever-after. However, it seems they are going to face a fair few obstacles before walking down the aisle – that’s if they even make it.

While Adam is known for being heartthrob in Weatherfield. proposing to Sarah in the middle of an armed siege wasn’t one of his most romantic moments.

Nevertheless, during scenes which aired on Christmas Day, viewers saw the pair hide during Derek Milligan’s (Craige Els) gun rampage, and Adam told Sarah should they make it out of the scary situation alive, they should get married.

After deciding their spontaneous idea wasn’t a moment of madness, the pair are planning for their big day, but it seems Adam is going to have a hard time controlling the plans.

In upcoming scenes, official spoiler pictures have shown Sarah and Adam gather at the Platt’s to celebrate Oliver’s birthday.

With all her family in one place, Sarah takes this as the perfect opportunity to  update everyone of details of the big day.

But, Adam is not pleased to learn Sarah has invited the whole factory to their wedding, and he points out how Beth Tinker (Lisa George) might kick off at Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

With worries over the nuptials going smoothly, will their big day even happen? Or will Adam make a last minute decision which is set to change everything?

As for how Sarah is feeling about getting married, the actress who plays her has spoken out about her current storyline.

She told Digital Spy: “It feels a bit Romeo and Juliet and historic! It would be a bit strange not being a Platt any more though, but of all the other families on the street to marry into, the Barlows are the one I’d choose.”

As previously mentioned, this is not Sarah’s first attempt at romance: “Sarah was meant to marry Jason Grimshaw but he climbed out of the toilet window in the church and jilted her.

“Then when they eventually did get married her brother David Platt [Jack P Shepherd] faked his suicide and drove into the canal just for the attention!

“If there is another wedding I’d like it to be a peaceful happy one for Sarah this time. She wouldn’t want a big fuss or any drama,” Tina remarked.

Will history repeat itself and Sarah’s wedding day be ruined once more – especially as Gary Windass (Mikey North) is going to stir up more trouble this spring.

Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod recently warned the battle between Gary and Adam would be revisited early this year.

He told Metro.co.uk: “We can’t forget the on-going trajectory of Gary Windass and his return to his genetic destiny as a kind of slightly dodgy scowl, and that has a really interesting chapter at the start of the new year.

“Having ridden the storm that ensures after Christmas, he finds himself in a relatively stable and happy place with Maria [Connor (Samia Longchambon)], and then something incredibly difficult happens that throws it up in the air.

“While the focus is over here on his new family and Maria, Adam Barlow is secretly conspiring against him and will threaten to lead Adam and therefore the authorities to Rick’s final resting place.”

In dramatic scenes, it wouldn’t be surprising if the day Gary got arrested was the same day Sarah was getting married.

Will she choose Gary over Adam?

Elsewhere in the Street, viewers are complaining about the abuse storyline between Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) and Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) are embroiled in.

For almost a year, the Speed Daal owner has morphed into a shadow of her former self as her husband takes more and more control over her and her life.
