Corrie star films Sinead's tragic death scenes
Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has officially filmed her devastating exit scenes as tragic Sinead Tinker, as she took time out to reflect on Twitter about her seven years on the popular soap. The actress wrapped filming on the hard hitting storyline, which will see Sinead lose her battle with cancer later this year in harrowing scenes.
It was confirmed recently by the show that the cervical cancer plotline would end in Sinead’s death, meaning an end to Katie’s time on the show – ad she was clearly emotional as she said goodbye to the character she has taken on the long journey on the cobbles.
Confirming her last scenes had been shot, she jokingly took to social media to ask if anyone had any acting work going. This gained a lot of responses which assumed she had left the show against her will, but she later clarified that she had not been axed and the decision for her to leave had been mutual.
Katie recently said: ‘I’ve been working with Mummy’s Star, they specialise in helping families and women who’ve been suffering from cancer in or around pregnancy. ‘It’s been really helpful chatting to them, some of the families and the founder Pete Wallroth who’ve been through this in real life.
‘Every story is different, and it’s quite a unique experience battling cancer in pregnancy, Sinead blames herself, so their advice and support has been very gratefully received.’
The storyline will continue tonight as Sinead and her groom Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) prepare to get officially married. But during the preparations for the big day, a lump will be found on Sinead’s neck, leaving her and her new husband fearful that they may not have a future.
Their worst fears are confirmed later in the week when Sinead is told that her illness is terminal and she only has months to live.
