Corrie star to throw engagement do at strip club he met 21-year-old fiancee in
Coronation Street’s Chris Quinten is getting ready to tie the knot with his fiancée Robyn Delabarre.
And what better place to throw an engagement party than the strip club he met her in.
Yes, the 61-year-old has decided to host the celebrations at The Secret Lounge, which he manages in Hammersmith, west London.
The actor, who played Gail Platt’s husband Brian Tilsley in the popular soap, sent out a flyer to his friends, family and fans inviting them down to the bash.
It reads: ‘All are welcome to join us for a celebratory engagement party at the new look The Secret Lounge.
‘A glass of bubbly and canapes on arrival.’
They explained that there will DJ entertainment, with the event going on til ‘late’.
The star proposed to the 21-year-old dancer just last month, and shocked fans over their 40 year age gap.
However, he has since defended their relationship when appearing on This Morning, and told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that it was ‘love at first sight’.
‘I had no relationship with the girls in the club whatsoever,’ Chris explained. ‘So I did not expect to fall in love with a dancer.’
‘There was just something about Robyn’s demeanour and personality and when she told me she was a nanny I thought she was a really good person.’
He added: ‘I fell in love with her personality.’
The pair realised they had a lot in common and began dating but had to keep it a secret.
Robyn revealed that her own parents are aged just 38 and 40, which is 20 years younger than her husband to be.
‘We had to keep it a secret which was really hard for me,’ Robyn told the hosts: ‘I had to lie to other dancers and my family.’
As for kids, Robyn is keen and Chris said he will give her ‘his blessing to find love’ after he dies.
