Cynthia Nixon’s Net Worth: How Much Is The Famous Actress Worth?

Cynthia Nixon may have played a big-shot lawyer on Sex and the City, but in real life, her net worth is not too shabby either!

In 1998, soon after the beloved HBO series premiered, Cynthia Nixon became famous for her portrayal of the headstrong Miranda Hobbes. While her three closest gal pals Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) were often obsessing over their latest boy-toys, Hobbes was frequently focused on work; fiercely independent, she had no time for nonsense. Things aren’t so different off-screen. As an activist, Nixon first made political headlines back in 2011 when lobbying for legalizing same-sex marriage in NYC. Since then, she’s advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, educational equality, legalizing marijuana, and more. The openly LGBTQ+ figure (she married Christine Marinoni in 2012, and they’re an adorbs couple) has battled breast cancer, won multiple TONY awards, and, in 2018, the born-and-raised New Yorker ran for governor of New York as a Democrat against incumbent Andrew Cuomo. Though she came up short, her progressive platform has been influential, and she galvanized many New Yorkers.

So yes, Nixon is pretty darned impressive, and her net worth would make Mr. Big jealous. And now that a Sex and the City revival is in the works from HBO Max (yes!), some fans are wondering how much Cynthia Nixon has in the bank.

Cynthia Nixon has invested in NYC real estate

So what is Cynthia Nixon’s net worth today? According to Celebrity Net Worth, Nixon is worth $25 million, and her Sex and the City days didn’t exactly hurt the bank account. Per the outlet, Nixon earned $3 million for the first SATC film alongside Kristen Davis, although Kim Cattrall earned a more impressive $7 million, and Sarah Jessica Parker $13 million. Still a great payday, nonetheless. Nixon has also appeared in ER, House, and more, TV-wise. In 2008, she even won an Emmy for her guest role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Real estate-wise, Nixon is living it up in New York City. The star and her wife, Christine Marioni, bought a posh co-op on Manhattan’s Bleecker St. for $3.25 million in 2012, the New York Post reported. The third-floor unit has oversized windows, exposed brick, cast-iron columns, and a stunning common roof deck. When a similar apartment went on the market in 2018, per the New York Post, an anonymous source told the outlet, “It’s really nice but Cynthia’s unit is even bigger.” Nixon also reportedly co-owns a charming East Village loft with “herringbone floors” and beautiful pre-war details, according to Architectural Digest. It’s unclear whether the star lives there or uses it for an investment property.

Now that Nixon has another big project in the works, who knows what else is in store for her real estate adventures.
