Dancing on Ice’s Kimberly Wyatt reacts as Oti Mabuse joins ITV judging panel

After it was confirmed that Oti Mabuse would be joining Dancing on Ice's judging panel, Pussycat Dolls babe and contestant Kimberly Wyatt could not contain her excitement as she gushed in the announcement's comment section.

Kimberly was quick to comment after the announcement had been made on Instagram.

Underneath the photo of the judging panel, which included Oti standing next to Torvill & Dean and Ashley Banjo, singing beauty Kimberly commented: "Oh wow!!!!!!! @otimabuse!Back to training then," followed by several love hearts emojis and a flushed face one.

Kimberley was not joking about the training.

Her recent Instagram posts showed her stretching her legs as she was seen doing the splits and other flexible moves.

The star was potentially teasing that viewers might see some somersaults on the ice when the competition begins in a few weeks – proving to Oti that she is a serious competitor.

Professional dancer Oti Mabuse, who has starred on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing for six years, will be joining the rival ITV show in January.

Many other celebrities were equally excited about Oti joining, as many commented underneath the Instagram announcement.

This Morning's Alison Hammond wrote: "Fantastic judging panel."

Whilst Dancing On Ice contestant Rachel Stevens added: "Amazing news! How exciting."

Many fans were also starstruck, with one tweeting: "My girl Kimberly Wyatt from The Pussycat Dolls and Rachel Stevens doing Dancing On Ice and now Oti Mabuse judging. I don't think I've ever been this excited for Dancing On Ice."

Oti will replace former judge John Barrowman after he was axed following allegations he had exposed himself on the set of Doctor Who and spin-off show Torchwood.

Speaking about the announcement about her new role, Oti said: "As a professional dancer, I have always had so much respect for the skating professionals on Dancing On Ice.

"It is an exceptional skill that is also so beautiful to watch. I'm feeling really enthusiastic about joining the panel alongside the legendary Torvill and Dean, and Ashley Banjo.

"I can't wait to see the celebrities thrive as they learn how to ice skate and to champion the professional skaters as they create incredible choreography.

"Having been on both sides of the table, I know a little bit about how they'll be feeling. It's more than an honour, and I already can't wait to join the family."

Alongside Kimberley Wyatt, the line-up for the ITV competition includes Love Island's Liberty Poole, Happy Monday's dancer Bez and Olympian Kye Whyte are just some of the stars in the stellar line-up.

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV and ITV Hub in January 2022.
