Eamonn Holmes drops massive hint wife Ruth Langsford is one of the stars of The Masked Singer as second series returns
EAMONN Holmes dropped a huge hint that his wife Ruth Langsford is one of the secret stars of The Masked Singer UK.
The ITV series is returning for it's second installment on Boxing Day with an array of new masked celebs ready to blow the judges away with their singing talents.
And now Eamonn, 61, dropped a major hint that his other half will appear on the entertainment show during today's This Morning.
The broadcaster coyly said: "Will you be able to spot Ruth before she is revealed or unmasked?"
Revealing nothing, Ruth, who previously appeared on Strictly, shrugged and said: "Hmmmmm."
The Northern Irish presenter's hint comes after The Masked Singer UK has been hit by a "leak" giving away the identities of the show's mystery celebrities earlier this month.
The next series of the show, adapted from a South Korean TV format, starts on Boxing Day.
But there are reportedly fears that the whole show will be ruined as members of the studio audience have been letting slip which celebs are taking part.
"The new series was filmed in front of a studio audience," an insider told the Daily Star.
"That means countless people saw the big reveals of who the celebrity contestants are."
Audience members are told to keep the big reveals a secret and not tell anyone.
But now the show is a big hit, some people haven't been able to resist "gossiping" and revealing spoilers.
The insider added: “If the names become public knowledge it will be a disaster.” ITV refused to comment when contacted by The Sun at the time.
Meanwhile, the show gave us a sneak peek of two masks that will feature in the upcoming season earlier this month.
The show was shot in September and has already wrapped up filming.
A glimpse of the first two characters to be featured in this series have been revealed.
One appears to be a green alien, and the other looks like a bizarre smiling sausage and chips.
Ten others, and all of the characters' names are yet to be announced.
The singing competition is described as a "surreal and surprising guessing game that will see 12 famous faces compete to pull off the best performance, with their identity elaborately and imaginatively concealed behind the mask".
This season will see comedian Mo Gilligan take over from Ken Jeong on the judging panel alongside Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall.
