EastEnders Callum star’s life with stunning partner amid awkward kissing scenes
EastEnders actor Tony Clay first appeared on our screens back in January 2018.
One half of iconic soap romance Ballum, Tony has played Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway in Albert Square ever since he accidentally shot Mick Carter.
Since then, Callum’s character has developed into a loveable fool, with increasingly impactful storylines.
Most recently, he’s been involved in a dark storyline after his fellow police officer Fitzy was stabbed and left fighting for his life.
But that hasn’t been the actor’s only challenging story, as after a romance with Whitney Dean, Callum realised he was confused about his sexuality and went on to have a shock affair with Ben Mitchell.
The couple have become firm soap favourites since their first kiss under the moonlight.
But Tony’s love life away from the cameras is drastically different, as he is loved up with his stunning girlfriend Olivia Griffin.
The lovebirds have been together since August 2016, and spend much of their time on adorable dates and jetting off for exotic holidays across the world.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, Tony posted a gorgeous snap of the couple soaking up the sunshine on a beach, showing off Olivia’s long blonde hair that fell into tousled waves.
"I love you more than words! Happy Valentine’s Day my girl!" Tony captioned the snap.
And on a selfie posted for Olivia’s birthday, Tony wrote: "Happy Birthday gorgeous girl! I love you more than words," with a love heart emoji.
But he admitted the couple are in "no hurry" to get married, though he does feel the "pressure" to propose to Olivia.
"You get to a stage where your mates start getting married and having children, and there can sometimes be a bit of pressure with people asking that question," he admitted.
"For me and Liv, we’re in no hurry, and we’re quite lucky that our friends and family are quite chilled out and relaxed about it.
"So yep, no rush, but one day – definitely."
Tony opened up in 2019 about how the on-screen kissing scenes with Ben actor Max Bowden got a little awkward, due to "beard rash".
"We’ve got solid stubble going on," he said, "and obviously when you’ve got to film stuff for late nights until half 11 or 12 in a park, it’s very cold.
"Naturally there’s only so much Carmex that you can use! So you do get a bit of beard rash after."
EastEnders boss Kate Oates said at the time that the pair once had to spend a total of three hours snogging in order to get the perfect take.
"They earned that money that night,” she laughed. "We were so excited about seeing that kiss being shot, we’d been storylining it for ages.

"I think [they] started kissing at about half past 7 and at about half past 10 they were still going at it, like the pros that they are! Each take just felt so real and so engaging."
Tony admitted that it is a "joy" to work with Max, adding of the characters: "They’re both kids from troubled backgrounds in their own sort of way, they’ve both taken very different paths.
"Now they’ve met at the right age, the right sort of time and I think the right moment in their lives."
