We may be coming to the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean life in Albert Square will be any less dramatic.

There's never a quiet moment, and there are plenty of changes coming up in EastEnders in 2019.

With deaths, break-ups and estranged family members, it can be heard keeping track of which actors and leaving the soap.

Who is leaving EastEnders in 2019?

Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite)

Tamzin Outhwaite will leave EastEnders this winter in a dramatic storyline.

Her character Mel’s life has been filled with tragedy there’s astroturfing few months, with the death of her son Hunter.

Things are going to heat up before her final scenes air this winter.

Adam Bateman (Stephen Rahman-Hughes)

Stephen Hughes will be leaving the soap , and his character Adam will start to show his true colours.

Honey Mitchell’s new love interest is cheating on her with Habiba.

But his adulterous ways will soon be exposed.

Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters)

Danny Walters will be leaving the show, meaning one of the show’s biggest stories will be reaching a long-awaited climax.

His storyline will come to “a dramatic and blistering conclusion” around Christmas.

Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin)

Lisa Fowler returned to EastEnders in September after leaving in 2002, but has regularly made appearances.

But Lisa is only in the soap for the specific storyline with Louise and Mel – and will be leaving once it is finished.

Who is returning to EastEnders in 2019?

Lee Carter (Danny Boy Hatchard)

Mick and Linda’s eldest son is making a brief return to Walford.

Lee will come back for a short stint to help his mum with her alcohol struggles.

Actor Danny Boy said: "The way things are going with the Carters at the minute, it makes total sense that Lee would return, even for a short stint.

"I will always be loyal to the Carter Clan and the show, and am very excited to be back on set with some immensely talented people whom I love dearly."

Pam Coker (Lin Blakley)

Pam Coker is going to be making one of her periodic guest appearances soon.

Actress Lin Blakley told the Express: "I love going back. I'm going back soon. Just for a couple of episodes and I love it.

"I love popping back. I’m so happy and pleased that I’m able to do that. I haven’t been back for a year but I’m going back for a couple of episodes, so that is wonderful."

Kim Fox (Tameka Empson)

Tameka Epson will be reappearing in EastEnders later this year.

She told Daily Star : "Kim has been working in Scotland as a tour guide. If anyone can do that, it’s Kim.

"But she's coming back soon. And I’m hoping it will be a big storyline. With Kim Fox it’s got to be big. We can't just have her turning up at the cafe.

"I don’t know what I’ll be doing. All I know is it will be a Christmas cracker!"

Who is joining EastEnders in 2019?

The Pansar Family (Shiv Jolata, Jez Deol, Amar Adatia)

Brothers Vinny, Kheerat and Jags make up EastEnders first-ever Sikh family.

They have recently made their first appearance in the BBC soap, and immediately become embroiled in a row after falling out with Ben Mitchell.

Executive producer Jon Sen said: "A British Asian family of Punjabi Sikh heritage, Kheerat, Jags and Vinny are three very different siblings who turn up in Walford looking to settle a score – but fate takes a hand and they find themselves staying for good.

"We're thrilled to be introducing this vibrant new family to Walford and to be sharing their stories."
