EastEnders viewers have been keeping a watchful eye on Gray Atkins (played by Toby-Alexander Smith) over the past year after he killed numerous Walford residents. Gray’s killing spree began when he killed his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plumber), but he’s since gone on to murder twice more. New images from upcoming scenes on the BBC soap show Gray caught up in a fire with Kheerat Panesar. Could Kheerat become Gray’s next murder victim?
In upcoming scenes on EastEnders, there will be a devastating fire that will put lives in danger.
New images released by the BBC soap show unlikely duo Kheerat and Gray team up when they spot the blaze.
As the fire rages on at Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) house, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) call for help.
Kheerat and Gray will be forced to join forces in a bid to save those inside the house.
As the pair head into the burning building, could Gray use the opportunity to kill again?
He may attempt to save those inside Phil’s house, but could Gray end up leaving Kheerat for dead?
Kheerat has long been suspicious of Gray, ever since the shocking death of Chantelle in 2020.
If Gray notices that Kheerat is becoming increasingly suspicious of him, he may take extreme measures to get him out of the picture.
Will he choose to leave Kheerat trapped in the fire at Phil’s house?
Kheerat was devastated when he found out that Chantelle had died, as the pair had planned to run away from Albert Square with each other.
However, Gray quickly put a stop to their short-lived romance, once Chantelle admitted to her relationship with Kheerat.
EastEnders fans were left heartbroken when Chantelle was killed by Gray last year.
The devastating domestic abuse storyline came to a shocking end when Chantelle told Gary she was going to leave him, and he turned to violence once again.
As the pair got into a heated argument in their kitchen, Gray threw Chantelle into the dishwasher, impaling her with a knife.
As Chantelle was bleeding out, Gray made a speedy exit in order to set up an alibi and upon his return, set up his wife’s death to look like an accident.
Sadly, Chantelle was just the first of Gray’s victims, as he later went on to take the life of Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).
Following Chantelle’s death, Tina became suspicious of Gray and when she confronted him, he strangled her to death.
Gray struck again earlier this year when he murdered Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami).
He killed Kush in a fit of rage after becoming jealous of his relationship with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).
When a fight broke out between the two men at a train station, Gray murdered Kush by shoving him in front of an oncoming train.
Despite taking the lives of numerous Walford residents, Gray has so far managed to get away with his crimes.
However, a number of fans have noticed that Kheerat appears to still have suspicions about Gray, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One viewer commented: “Kheerat sees straight through Gray, good to see that he is still on Gray’s case!! #EastEnders.”
“I honestly love Kheerat and that he sees Gray for exactly who he is and knows it’s only a matter of time before everyone else does too,” another added.
Could the upcoming fire in Walford be the perfect cover for Gray to commit another undetected murder? And will it be Kheerat who is the victim?
EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
