Fear the Walking Dead season 5 spoilers: Daryl Dixon to cross over in huge Dwight twist?
In the Fear the Walking Dead episode, Dwight (played by Austin Amelio) joined Morgan Jones (Lennie James) in crossing over to the AMC spinoff.
His crossover has been teased for a long time and fans finally saw him at a Wild West theme town.
He was nearly involved in a vicious gun fight but was then saved by John (Garret Dillahunt) and June (Jenna Elfman) and introduced to the rest of the group.
It was revealed Dwight has been on the hunt for his wife Sherry ever since leaving The Walking Dead world.
Maybe Daryl. It would fun and mix it up a little bit
He became free to search for her after he was banished by Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), but could he join him in Fear the Walking Dead?
It would bring more conflict for Dwight and could ultimately lead to his downfall.
However, Dwight star Austin teased he would want Daryl to cross over and join him.
Appearing in a group interview with Build Series, he was asked who he would want to cross over and he replied: “Maybe Daryl. It would fun and mix it up a little bit.”
He also laughed at the suggestion of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) after the pair had clashed repeatedly on The Walking Dead.
Daryl’s inclusion in the Fear world would certainly cause huge conflict between the pair given that Daryl has not been able to come to terms with Dwight killing Denise Cloyd (Merritt Wever).
Dwight has already come across friction as he was reunited with Morgan in the last episode.
Morgan is currently not willing to hear Dwight’s apologies about his behaviour with Negan in The Walking Dead.
However showrunner Andrew Chambliss has suggested their meeting might have a hidden significance.
“They were in some of the bigger group scenes [in The Walking Dead], but Morgan and Dwight hadn’t actually had a lot of personal one-to-one interaction.
“They obviously both kind of know each other as characters and their history. So I think when they find each other, it was really the surprise that these two people ended up in the same place.
“And we give some hints that there are some reasons that they both ended up in the same area in Texas. And there’s a little bit of back and forth where they’re talking about what roads they took.
“I think we’ll learn a little more about what forces drove them to this area.”
Meanwhile, Austin has revealed why he laughed when the suggestion he might crossover into Fear the Walking Dead was first made.
He also revealed what Dwight has been doing: “Effectively searching for his wife, like a drug addict trying to get his next fix.”
About what to expect from Dwight, he added: “He’s in a much darker spot, I think.”
Fear the Walking Dead continues Monday on AMC UK, while The Walking Dead is expected to return later this year.
