Hollyoaks star teases Martine murder twist as Toby showdown ends in deadly blaze

Hollyoaks bad boy Toby Faroe turns to violence once again in upcoming scenes and this time his mum Martine Deveruax (Kellé Bryan) is in the firing line.

Fans of the Channel 4 soap will remember that Toby murdered his cousin Lisa Loveday in dramatic scenes last year, and actor Bobby Gordon has teased that no one can predict whats going to happen next for his character.

Toby has been on cloud nine recently as a result of his romance with Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin).

However, Martine is determined to protect her son and therefore asks Chloe to take things slow with her son as he's a virgin.

Opening up about Martine's betrayal, soap star Bobby told Daily Star: "He's not happy with Martine for telling Cleo.

"I think the one thing he’s been trying to do is move at a good pace and do things his way.

"Martine shouldn’t have got involved and her doing so might have badly affected her relationship with Toby."

Toby storms around the garage in a fit of rage when he sees his mother's meddling, leaving Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) certain that something needs to be done about his son's behaviour.

He later sees sense and agrees to attend the counselling sessions required when donating a kidney, and ultimately save Walter Deveraux's (Trevor A Tousaaint) life.

However, during the theory sessions Toby comes to believe that the counsel has a copy of The Red Door with her, and he therefore explodes.

Little does he know that the book actually belongs to Felix.

Meanwhile, Walter is rushed to hospital, leaving his daughter Martine devastated.

Toby finds Martine upset and lies, claiming that the counselling session went fine, so he'll be able to help with Walter's kidney transplant.

However, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) tells a very different story, which results in Martine confronting her son.

Fed up of all the questions, Toby snaps, and locks Martine in the garage.

Celeste is perturbed to find her brother pulling down the shutters, and when she enquires about what he’s up to, Toby tells her that he’s going to kill their mum.

Martine is trapped in the garage, as Toby splashes petrol around the building — leaving Celeste in shock.

Discussing whether Toby has it in him to kill another family member, Bobby explained: "I would like to say he’s changed, and believe me he is trying, But when the anger gets the best of him, no one can predict the outcome.

"He’s still recovering from his years of trauma and considering him and Martine didn’t start on the best terms, I hope he doesn’t remind himself of his past thoughts."

Fans will have to wait and see if Celeste manages to talk her brother out of killing their mum before its too late.

Discussing what viewers can expect from Toby over the next 12 months, Bobby teased: "More smiles than rage hopefully.

"He’s started to really settle into the village and find himself which shows a more positive side to things.

"But, we all know how things go when things seem to be going well.

"Toby is known to be sporadic in the calmest of situations so expect explosions from every emotion."

He added: "Deep down it’s always fun being the villain but Toby has so much more to give and really wants to give loving a try and making friends in the village.

"He also feels terrible for the wrong he’s done so hopefully this a new chapter for Toby."
