Homes under the Hammer's Martin Roberts reveals horror arm injury that took nine hours of surgery to save
HOMES Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts revealed his worst ever DIY injury where he almost chopped his arm off.
Martin, 57, revealed the gory details of his worst ever injury to date on Twitter during #AskMartinMonday.
A fan asked Martin: “Hi Martin. As a man who looks to enjoy the rough and ready world of DIY- what’s your worst injury?
“I once hurt my little finger on some sandpaper and I’ve never been the same since.”
Martin replied: “Yes, I almost chopped my arm off and required 9 hours of surgery under a general anaesthetic to rebuild me.
“So, it sounds like we've had similar levels of trauma.”
Fans were quick to offer their sympathies, as one said: “Wow sounds dramatic not to mention painful!”
Martin also answered a question about appearing on other television shows, to which he replied: “I've already done The Chase and yes I'd love to do Strictly.”
The Homes Under the Hammer presenter also appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here in 2016.
Talking about his experience after being voted out, Martin told Ant and Dec: “Holy mackerel, my oh my oh my, I had no idea it would be anything like that.
“The people, the experience, how it affects you in ways you would never imagine.”
Martin revealed a key property tip that allows buyers to "stack the odds" in their favour.
Martin stated: "The world of property provides an ever-changing and challenging environment which really fascinates me and Dion."
Dion Dublin replied: "Yes, but there is one key principle, get it for the best price possible.
"But that’s not always as easy as it seems."
Martin agreed, but added: "No, but one way you can stack the odds in your favour is by going to your local auction house.
He hosts two-hour seminars across the UK teaching people how to make big bucks from decaying and problematic properties most are too scared to touch.
Furthermore, he has a members-only section of his website that promises to reveal even more tricks of the trade.
Meanwhile, fronting a programme that specialises in improving peoples' homes, it would be reasonable for you to expect that Martin would have an impressive pad.
And the stylish presenter certainly doesn't disappoint.
Martin lives in a stunning Cotswold-stone house in Bath with his wife and two children.
The gorgeous property has a modern interior with a white palette, spanning four storeys.
