How old is Sharon in EastEnders and who is the father of her baby?
Matters in the Mitchell household are about to become even more complicated after Sharon unexpectedly discovers that she’s pregnant.
Yup, as if things weren’t difficult enough with Louise having also discovered she is expecting – and deciding to keep her baby, Dennis (Bleu Landau)’s behavioural issues and Sharon’s secret affair with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), this could throw a serious spanner into the works.
It’s an even bigger shock for Sharon given her age, and the fact she believed she was unable to get pregnant due to fertility issues.
But just how old is she – and who is the father of her baby?
Here’s what you need to know…
How old is Sharon in EastEnders?
Sharon is 48 years old – so while she might be on the old side to have a baby, it’s certainly possible for her to have one.
She’s already mother to son Dennis, who was born in 2006 – but recently told Louise (Tilly Keeper) that she had struggled with fertility issues after falling pregnant with ex-husband Grant Mitchell’s baby and having it aborted.
The character had already thought of Dennis, who was her son with the late Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman) as her ‘miracle’ baby, discovering she was pregnant on Christmas Day 2005 after years of thinking she was unable to conceive.
Who is the father of Sharon’s baby?
We’ll just have to keep watching to find the answer to that one – as it could be either Phil (Steve McFadden) or Keanu, who is 30 years her junior.
If it turns out to be the latter then he’s got two babies on the way in Walford, given that he’s already expecting one with Louise – and he could well have left Sharon with a bun in the oven also, after they rekindled their affair.
‘EastEnders is putting Phil and Sharon back at the heart of the show, a source told The Sun.
‘In a shock twist next month Sharon discovers she’s pregnant. But there’s gonna be a “who’s the daddy?” dilemma cos she romped with her toyboy lover Keanu last week so is he the dad or is Phil?
‘Having discovered she’s pregnant Phil excitedly tells everyone their news, much to Sharon’s horror as she doesn’t know for sure who the dad is.’
We’re expecting some serious fireworks once all of this does come out, mind.
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays on BBC One at 8pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
