I’m A Celebrity stars arrive on set as AJ Pritchard bids girlfriend farewell

The stars of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 have been spotted arriving on set, with a parade of black cars photographed entering the grounds of Gwrych Castle in Wales.

On Sunday 15 November, I’m A Celebrity is returning to our screens, with contestants including Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former Strictly Come Dancing dancer AJ Pritchard and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher gearing themselves up to take on the dreaded Bushtucker Trials.

Shortly before the launch of the new ITV series, the celebrities taking part in the programme made their way to the castle, having been placed in self-isolation beforehand.

In one of the pictures, an individual with blonde hair wearing a red gilet and a blue shirt can be seen sitting in the back of one of the vehicles.

However, it’s difficult to tell whether the passenger is Coronation Street star Beverley Callard or broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire.

Whoever it is, they’re going to have to quickly get used to living a life sans luxury when I’m A Celebrity officially begins, with the contestants set to sleep in bare, freezing conditions.

The celebrities are also going to have to use a shower room that looks more like a torture chamber than a bathroom, a far cry from the waterfall contestants are usually able to use in the show’s typical camp in Australia.

Before arriving at Gwrych Castle, professional dancer AJ shared a heartfelt post on Instagram bidding his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen farewell as he heads off for what could be several weeks.

‘Off I go on my new adventure! I hope to do you proud. See you all on the other side,’ the 26-year-old said, sharing a picture of him and Abbie and another with his brother, former Love Island contestant Curtis Pritchard, also in frame.

Abbie shared a selfie of her and AJ on Instagram, alongside the caption: ‘I miss you already.’

It was recently feared that AJ’s chances of appearing on I’m A Celebrity had been put at risk after he tested positive for coronavirus.

However, after testing negative on two occasions, AJ was cleared to participate in the competition, saying in a statement: ‘I’m very excited about that. It’s a big relief for everybody. I just want to thank ITV for all their stringent measures. The whole point of us going into lockdown and isolating is just in case this does happen.’

I’m A Celebrity returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
