I'm A Celeb's AJ Pritchard reveals Ant McPartlin's off-camera advice
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’s AJ Pritchard has revealed Ant McPartlin’s words of advice off-camera helped him through a tough trial.
Not long after finalist Jordan North shared how Declan Donnelly talked him out of quitting the ITV series, the former Strictly Come Dancing professional lifted the lid on Ant’s words of encouragement behind-the-scenes of the Game Of Groans.
AJ and Mo had been tasked with memorising 16 shields containing painted symbols while also being covered in critters.
Recalling the ordeal, AJ exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘There was a challenge that I did with Mo and we were sat in the chairs and I remember Ant said to me, “Sit still, ignore the critters coming down and just focus on board”.
‘As soon as he said that, the first one we did awful but the second one we did really well. That did help.’
AJ added that both Ant and Dec were a treat during the trials, and would offer up advice to the contestants.
‘They will try and help you, definitely,’ he continued.
Besides sharing the heartwarming admission, AJ also confirmed to us that there’s no bad blood between him and fellow contestant Shane Richie.
Across the course of the series, there was mounting speculation of tension after the two celebrities appeared to butt heads over the washing up duties.
Casting his mind back to his clash with Shane over the dishes, AJ told us: ‘When I asked him about the dishes it was 3’o’clock in the morning and everyone was dead.
‘Obviously, I cleaned the pots and pans when he was out doing the castle coin challenge and my cleaning was cleaner than his, but he openly admits that cleaning is not his forte.’
AJ confirmed: ‘We’re good friends. I think it’s always funny. We have spoken.
‘We have a group WhatsApp, but also I spoke to him separately. I think he’s going to come on mine and my brother’s podcast next week.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is available for catch-up on the ITV Hub.
