Kathy Griffin rushed to hospital with ‘unbearably painful’ coronavirus symptoms- but wasn’t tested – The Sun

KATHY Griffin revealed she was rushed to the ER with “UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms” of coronavirus and slammed Donald Trump’s response to the global pandemic.

The 59-year-old comedian said she was isolated in a major hospital in severe pain but could not get tested due to CDC restrictions.

Kathy posted a picture of herself laying in a hospital bed while wearing a face mask in her own quarantined room.

Underneath the medical facility photos was a screenshot of 73-year-old Trump’s tweet from earlier today that read:

“Just reported that the United States has done far more “testing” than any other nation, by far!

“In fact, over an eight day span, the United States now does more testing than what South Korea (which has been a very successful tester) does over an eight week span. Great job!”

Kathy responded on Instagram: "He’s lying. I was sent to the #COVID19 isolation ward room in a major hospital ER from a separate urgent care facility after showing UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms.

“The hospital couldn’t test me for #coronavirus because of CDC (Pence task force) restrictions."

She hammered home the messaged further and concluded her message "#TESTTESTTEST."

The outspoken comedian had a tough month as she announced on St. Patrick’s Day that she lost her beloved mother Maggie.

She shared a photo of her with her mom poolside with a glass of wine in hand and wrote an emotional tribute:

"My Mom, the one and only, Maggie Griffin, passed away today. I am gutted. My best friend. I’m shaking. I won’t ever be prepared.

"I’m so grateful you guys got to be part of her life. You knew her. You loved her. She knew it. Oh, and OF COURSE she went on St Patrick’s Day.”

Chrissy Teigen was one of the first to share her condolences and wrote: "Oh Kathy. I am so, so sorry. We love you.”

Kathy's fans got to know Maggie intimately when she joined her show Kathy's So-Called Reality in 2001.

She also later appeared in Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List in 2005 – which went on to air for six seasons.

In January 2019, Kathy revealed to fans that her mom had been suffering from dementia.

Yesterday, rapper Slim Thug was the latest celebrity to announce he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Stayve “Slim Thug" Thomas, 39, warned his fans: “The other day I got tested for the coronavirus yesterday and it came back positive. As careful as I been self-quarantine and staying home…

"I might went and got something to eat or did some simple stuff like that.

“Nothing crazy, stayed in my truck, had masks, gloves, everything on and my test came back positive.

“So y’all gotta take this stuff serious. Sit at home, self-quarantine, do not come outside for however long they are saying. If you have symptoms, you need to get checked out or whatever."

Bravo boss Andy Cohen, 51, announced last week he had been diagnosed in an emotional Instagram message: "After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus."

The dad-of-one told Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live this week that his quarantine has been hard:

“I can’t see him [son, Ben], which is the very worst part.”

What he knows from his nanny cam and other video of Ben is “he’s great and his nanny [tested] negative.”

For the time being he said is doing his best as the virus is “working its way through my body.”
