Lily James will release debut song with DJ Yoda to coincide with Glastonbury in September

WHEN it was revealed earlier this month that actress Lily James was planning to release a debut single with DJ Yoda, her fans went into meltdown.

Now I can reveal the Cinderella movie beauty’s track will be called Send Her and released at the end of summer — around the time of September’s one-day Glastonbury festival which was announced last week.

A friend said: “Lily and DJ Yoda recorded Send Her in North London. It’s got a really chilled-out vibe which was the polar opposite of how Lily was feeling.

“She went into the studio feeling rebellious and keen to shake off everything happening after the pictures of her and Dominic West in Italy came to light.

“Lily is a really talented singer and excited about getting the song out there. The plan is to hold off until the end of summer and to try to coincide with Glasto.”

Lily was pictured being hugged and kissed by Dominic, her co-star on hit BBC period drama The Pursuit Of Love, while filming in Rome last autumn.

So while Lily and her fans are desperate for her song to come out, I can imagine one person who would prefer it stayed on pause. I revealed last week how Dominic’s wife, Catherine Fitzgerald, had banned The Pursuit Of Love from their house because she didn’t want to see Dominic and Lily on screen together.

Friends of Catherine say recent pictures of Lily filming her new telly role as Eighties Baywatch bombshell Pamela Anderson have not helped either.

Now Lily has a song coming out, pals say it is feeling increasingly tough for Catherine. A second source told me: “She’s had her fill, with The Pursuit Of Love on TV and photos of Lily as Pamela.

“Now the prospect of Lily’s song isn’t exactly filling her with glee.”

Earlier this month Lily hinted she is preparing to speak for the first time about the explosive photos of her and Dominic.

She said: “There is a lot to say, but not now.”

That late bombshell will keep Dominic twitching  — and frankly it could not be more deserved.

Ink or swim Harry

Tatt’s a bit of an unusual look for singer Harry Styles.

The former One Direction man was pictured braving the cold and swimming in the Channel for his new film, My Policeman.

And if you still can’t work out what’s not quite right with Harry’s very bare-looking chest, ask yourself what has happened to his 52 inkings.

For the film – about two men who fall in love and start an affair in 1950s England – a team of make-up artists has been tasked with covering Harry’s multiple tats every time he has flesh on show.

Along with a love heart, a sailing ship and an anchor on his arms, Harry usually has two large birds and a giant butterfly emblazoned across his chest.

Whoever managed to hide them this well, all while Harry was splashing around in the sea off Brighton, deserves some kind of award.

Pink icon gong

The Billboard Music Awards last night were all about Pink – as she won the Icon award.

The US singer, who also sang at the LA event, had been pictured the day before rehearsing in a black gown.

Pink follows in the footsteps of previous Icon winners who include Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez.

This year’s awards were presented by Nick Jonas and also saw gigs by BTS and The Weeknd.

Canadian superstar The Weeknd was expected to clear up on the night, with 16 nods for his last album After Hours, while Taylor Swift was hot favourite for Album Of The Year with Folklore.

Her rivals for Best Female Artist include Megan Thee Stallion.

Rapper Drake was presented early-doors with Artist of the Decade – and has the most ever BMA wins with 27.

But with six nominations, he could be waking up this morning with a whole load more trophies.

Carmit glams up

Pussycat Dolls star Carmit Bachar channelled her inner Jessica Rabbit for a new photoshoot.

The singer ramped up the glamour as she appeared on the cover of Glamour Bulgaria.

Carmit and her bandmates were supposed to be hitting the road this month for their upcoming world tour but have been forced to postpone the gigs because of the pandemic.

I’m sure they’ll be back next year, bigger and better than ever.

Toyah: Thank mod I’m alive

You expect some method acting from the world’s biggest Hollywood stars – but less so from Eighties singers.

Toyah Willcox has admitted she thought she was going to die after the director of 1979 film Quadrophenia insisted she and her fellow cast members spent their weekends with real mods and rockers to get into character.

Toyah, who appeared in the cult film alongside Phil Daniels, Timothy Spall, Leslie Ash and Ray Winstone, said: “Franc Roddam [the director] suggested we should go off and spend our weekends with real mods and rockers.

“These old mods and rockers loved having us. My God, they pushed the boat out!

“I know at one party I ended up on the back of a motorbike with a rocker, doing about 80 down a cul-de-sac.

“And I was thinking, ‘I’m not going to survive this, I’m not going to survive this’. We were so dedicated to the project.”

Speaking on the Rockonteurs podcast, Toyah added: “I still get fan mail from LA. It’s just one of those movies that I think is a cultural great.

“But what was lovely was putting that iconic group of actors together in a room, including Sting, and teaching us to do the Mashed Potato and all those dances.

“We adored each other. We were a very bonded group of people.”
