Love Island bosses ‘in crisis talks’ over Caroline Flack’s job as Maya Jama and Laura Whitmore are ‘tipped to replace her’

Love Island bosses have reportedly met for "crisis talks" about Caroline Flack's job on the show following her shock arrest.

The 40 year old was arrested and charged with assault by beating following a bust-up at the home she shares with boyfriend Lewis Burton in the early hours of Thursday morning, Met Police confirmed.

A man — believed to be the presenter 's boyfriend — was reportedly treated for injuries after six police cars were pictured outside their London home after being called to a "domestic disturbance."

On Friday, a Met Police spokesman told OK! online: "Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating. She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.

"This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured."

Following news of her arrest, she faced calls from fans of the hit ITV2 show to be sacked and replaced.

And it now appears her bosses are holding conversations to decide what the do amidst the drama.

The new series of the show will start in less than four weeks' time — on 8 January — but a question mark now hangs over Caroline's position on the show as she's not due in court until 23 December.

It has been reported that many of the show's former contestants, whom have not been named, have been lined up to take her place on the show if she's not able to make it to South Africa, according to Mirror Online.

Other names that have been linked to the show include Stormzy's ex-girlfriend and radio DJ Maya Jama, who hosted the first series of Channel 4's The Circle last year.

The 25 year old has recently become a fixture on ITV2, becoming a team captain on their show Don't Hate The Playaz earlier this year.

Laura Whitmore — who is the girlfriend of Love Island narrator Iain Stirling — has also been linked to the show.
