Love Island fights and rule breaks – wine-throwing to security removing islander

With Love Island back imminently, it’s not long before the UK will meet a new crop of hot singletons looking for love.

This year will be the show’s seventh season, with Laura Whitmore back presenting and husband Iain Stirling back as the voice of the ITV 2 show.

Of course, with being well over a year since the last series was on our screens, it’s sure not to be one to forget.

And the previous six series’ have all provided their fair share of dramatic moments in previous years.

We take a look back at some of the most memorable ones ever, from over the last six years.

Malia Arkian v Kady McDermott

For this explosive moment, we have to travel all the way back to season two of Love Island.

It came after Kady McDermott was left furious after her love interest Scott Thomas went on a date with new girl Malia Arkian.

Not being one to refrain from the dramatics, Kady ended up “accidentally” spilling her wine all over her love rival.

It didn’t take long before things between the two women got even more heated, with Malia eventually having to be removed from the villa by security after pushing Kady.

Theo Campbell v Jonny Mitchell

One of the most bizarre but hilarious confrontations in Love Island history was between Theo Campbell and Jonny Mitchell.

The pair both had eyes for Tyla Carr but when Theo was able to pick first, he left Jonny fuming when he picked his girl of choice.

Jonny was left to pick Amber Davies and told the islanders: “I would like to couple up with this girl because I wasn’t given a lot of choice, because of a certain gigantic b****nd.”

However, the comment understandably left the villa shocked with Theo soon jumping up to have a go at him.

“Who are you calling a b****nd, you’re a f***ing b****nd… dry your tears mate,” Theo warned him.

Sherif Lanre thrown out over Molly-Mae comment

Sherif Lanre landed himself in hot water back in 2019 over an alleged comment made towards fellow islander Molly-Mae Hague.

He was removed from the villa after just nine days after the show begun after it was confirmed he had broken villa rules.

It later emerged he had accidentally kicked Molly-Mae in the groin and then used the c-word to describe the incident.

But he insisted to The Sun on Sunday: “I’ve never used the word before and I don't know where it came from. I think I have heard other people saying it and it just popped out.”

Anna Vakili v Jordan Hames

Just days after becoming official with Anna Vakili, Jordan Hames went and blew it all when a new girl showed up in the villa.

When India Reynolds arrived, it wasn’t long before Jordan’s head was turned and he admitted he liked the newcomer.

And when Anna got wind of Jordan’s change of heart, it didn’t take long before it all kicked off.

She soon went over to confront the pair in dramatic scenes and was eliminated from the villa just days after.

Amy Hart has heart broken by Curtis Pritchard

Amy Hart was left heartbroken when her time coupled up with Curtis Pritchard came to an abrupt end.

He had his head turned by newcomer Jourdan Riane during his stay at Casa Amor, much to the shock of pretty much the whole country.

When Curtis came clean to Amy about his wandering eyes, things got understandably emotional.

"I was coming back here to tell you I loved you,” she shouted – a truly classic moment which has gone down in Love Island history.

Days later, she made the decision to leave the villa.

Olivia Atwood fights with… everyone else

Olivia was known for her fiery temperament during her time on the villa when she was coupled up with Chris Hughes.

Things got particularly messy for Liv when she walked into the bedroom to hear the other islanders talking about her.

And it wasn’t long before she hit back and had a massive row with pretty much everyone, with Montana Brown and Marcel Somerville feeling the wrath of Liv in particular.

Malin Andersson confronts Terry Walsh over Emma

When Malin Andersson left the Love Island villa in 2016, Terry Walsh reassured her he would remain faithful.

But viewers soon saw this didn’t quite go to plan as he was soon cracking on with Emma-Jane Woodhams just over a day later.

In an epic twist, the show brought Malin back in to confront Terry over being unfaithful.

After the pair’s very heated reunion, things became even more cringeworthy for Terry when he ended up walking off with Malin’s sunglasses by mistake.

Zara Holland and Alex Bowen

Miss Great Britain 2015 winner Zara ended up changing her life forever after a date with newcomer Alex ended up in a spontaneous romp in the Hideaway.

The villa were horrified when Zara admitted she did the deed, and it turns out Zara's Miss Great Britain bosses were fuming over her decision, as she had been told she couldn't have sex on TV.

They issued a statement saying that Zara's title had been stripped, leaving her devastated.

She decided to stay in the villa and see her time out, but soon heard news that her mum was unwell and decided it was time to go.
