Love Island ‘TV row’ intensifies as Amy addresses Amber ‘beef’ ahead of new role
Love Island star Amy Hart has finally had her say on possible 'tensions' with Amber Gill.
There may have been some awkwardness between the pair, who were close pals in the villa this summer, after Amber 'stole' Amy's dream job.
The Love Island winner has landed a role as a Loose Woman panellist, while Amy has seemingly not been asked back after making two appearances on the chat show.
And to make things even more tense, Amy's love rival Maura Higgins has joined the This Morning family as an agony aunt during phone-ins.
Amy addressed reports of "beef" with Amber when asked to reveal all during a late-night Instagram live on Monday.
Lying in her bed, Amy, 26, said: "There is no beef. Amber is a vegetarian darling."
Unlucky-in-love Amy then cryptically revealed she is fighting back with some "exciting" TV opportunities.
During the live feed, Amy announced: "I can’t tell you what TV I’ve got lined-up because I'm not allowed to but crazy exciting."
Amy then repeatedly asked her people if she could announce the news, but had to let fans down when she was told not to.
The former air stewardess confessed she would love to go on I'm A Celebrity, prompting speculation that she may be entering the Australian jungle later this year.
During the live stream, Amy also discussed her favourite musicals, did impressions of Gemma Collins and revealed secrets of the villa.
It was a "dream come true" for Amy when she secured a guest role as a Loose Women panelist after leaving the villa – but she has been missing from TV screens since the Love Island reunion show.
During the reunion, Amy told host Caroline Flack she was "hoping" to be invited back onto the panel for a more permanent role.
But it seems Amy is still waiting for that callback from Loose Women, who have instead opted to secure the services of Amber.
A source told The Mirror: “She is opinionated, outspoken and sassy – all the ingredients to be a perfect Loose Woman. Bosses are excited to see how it goes.”
ITV Insiders believe Amber may have what it takes to be a regular fixture on the show if her debut next Wednesday goes well.
While Amy only made one appearance on Loose Women as an actual panelist, Amber could secure a permanent role if she is a success.
A source added: “Her appearance was a real hit and viewers loved her, so it’s well worth giving her a shot at asking the questions.
“If she’s a success, a regular slot on the panel in the future could be on the cards.”
Speaking about the "super-exciting" opportunity, Amber told us: "Trust me, I’ll be giving my opinions on everything from cosmetic surgery to open relationships and blended families."
Amber and Amy are just two of this year's Islanders that have landed major TV roles after finding fame on Love Island.
Irish bombshell Maura Higgins has joined the This Morning family as an agony aunt, while her man Curtis Pritchard has become The Greatest Dancer's new receptionist.
