Love Island’s Maura called out for ‘double standards’ over treatment of Elma
Love island viewers were in hysterics last night as Maura Higgins finally got her just desserts.
After spending the week throwing herself at Tommy Fury only for him to pick Molly-Mae Hague, Maura was left "f***ing raging" to discover her pal Elma Pazar was now interested in the same man as her.
Despite Maura flirting up a storm with newboy Tom Walker and even inviting him to share her bed on his first night, as soon as he got to the villa he admitted it was eyelash technician Elma that was his type on paper.
And Maura was not happy.
"I'm not coupled up with anyone! I haven't had the chance to couple up with anyone," fumed Maura.
"Talk about destroying my confidence!" she raged.
But viewers at home were delighted in the turn of events.
"How does Maura not see the irony of what Elma is doing to her?" asked one.
"Maura looks fuming about Elma and Tom, and I love it. Maura is getting played at her own game," added another.
Former contestant Olivia Attwood also waded into the debate on Twitter as Maura vented her frustrations to former love rival Molly Mae.
"How is Molly listening to Maura rant???? I would be on the floor laughing," said Olivia.
And it appears Maura's past comments about respecting relationships and female friends have come back to haunt her given the latest drama.
Before she went in the villa, Maura was asked to give her a definition of girl code.
She said: "If there is a girl and a guy in there and they’ve put a label on it, I would never go there and I would hope that no one would do it to me."
But the Irish stunner may not have to worry about Elma for much longer, as she could soon be voted out of the show in the latest dumping.
Elma along with Anton Danyluk, Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt are all up for the public vote.
Host Caroline Flack is heading into the villa to reveal who is at risk.
Find out who is next to be dumped tonight on ITV2 at 9pm
